Top Ten Reasons Why I Don't Like G. I. Joe

Well the movie seems to be this summer's blockbuster swan song. I might see it but for some reason I can't generate enough interest which is why I bring you my:

Top Ten Reasons Why I Don't Like G. I. Joe

10. Too many characters. Too many sterotypical, silly characters.
9. Sgt. Slaughter.
8. Nobody gets killed. It's war for Christ's sake!!
7. G. I. Joe used to be 12" action figure (with a real fuzzy beard) not a 3 3/4 " highly trained mission force.
6. Both the toys and the cartoon stink of merchandising.
5. I don't tell you how to animate, so please don't moralize my terrorism.
4. Like the Transformers movie, Hollywood is about 25 years too late.
3. COBRA is a laughable conflict for the Joes. They couldn't rule a household let alone the world.
2. They aren't the Micronauts.
1. I just thought you would like to know (and knowing is half the battle).

Please do not let my preconceived notions and dislike deter you from posting and hanging your thoughts about the movie in this thread. From the trailers I've seen the movie has a lot of action (I like a good action movie). There is also the chance that the movie could spurn a franchise but if Hollywood takes any direction from the animated series we are all in trouble.

Yeah, it'll probably suck but I'll still be seeing it since my lady wants to. She's a big Christopher Eccleston fangirl.

I haven't seen the movie, but any film that glorifies combat &/or the military is detestable, immoral and anti-Christian.

Word is it's way better than expected and everything Transformers is not.

We'll see (or maybe we won't...or maybe we will, but on DVD...then again, maybe we wont).

Is G.I Joe the same as Action Man

Yes, yes he is...
Except Action Man needed good ol' American G.I. Joes to save their sorry arses in the Big War. I mean c'mon! Who'd you rather have covering your back: a trained ninja killing machine like Snake-Eyes!

Or some croissant eatin', red wine sippin', socialist lovin' candyass like this guy:

I remember looking at Rotten Tomatoes Wednesday Night and seeing it at 91% and I thought that was promising but I checked today and it plummented to 37%.
