Torment and Hell

i believe consciousness is a physical phenomena, we see the result of it all the time. we see it conceived in a form; such as an end table from a woodworker's shop, or from a slab of granite and a sculptors art gallery/room
How are people tormented when they loose loved ones, valued possessions, or other attachments??
I see it is a separation, a remoteness, a knowing of what one was capable of, being made aware of the opportunities one had to obtain that capacity and knowing ones failure to do so.
Thus, Heaven and hell are conditions within our own beings. Heaven is nearness to God, remoteness is hell.

The torment is fire and tormenting means that the fire burns. And according to the Bible, soul and body are destroyed in hell. They can burn forever in hell, but it doesn’t mean necessary that person lives or feels anything there. Because eternal life is for righteous, I don’t think anyone feels anything in hell.
These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

According to the Quran you do have a physical body in both heaven and hell.
according to christianity and hinduism you do too. it's called the subtle body in some systems, others the astral.

In the Vaishnava traditions the highest heaven is Vaikuntha (akasha sky) swarg , which exists above the six heavenly lokas and outside of the mahat-tattva .
