Totalitarian, genocidal china bans Halloween.

Imagine being so insecure over you're genocidal, totalitarian grip over your populis that you need to ban people from having a good time. The racist, fascist, genocidal, terrorist CCP banned halloween this year due to the fear that the influence of Western culture is going to weaken there grip on the people. This is only a part of a wider on personal freedoms and cultural expression by the evil CCP. The same CCP which targets xtian's and muslim's simply for existing.

If you want to understand Xi Jinping..... understand Mao Zedong.... Xi is a hardcore follower of Mao and read everything Mao ever wrote

But with that said, and although I do not agree with the totalitarianism, I seriously doubt anyone in China was all that surprised by this. I'm willing to bet (and I only bet on sure things) that if last month I called my In-laws in Beijing and asked what would happen if I put on Halloween costumes and went out on Halloween, that they would have told me..."you'd be arrested" Actually they would ahve said 你会被逮捕 (Nǐ huì bèi dàibǔ) but it means the same thing

What an awful place to be a human
Not really, if you are Chinese and lived there your whole life. They seem to go about life as usual. Family, houses, businesses, malls, restaurants, jobs, cars, trucks, buses, etc. But there are things that they all know they should not do and there are things they just don't question. And the media is controlled so it is all you know. They don't seem oppressed or unhappy, but then that is all they know. They know things are different under Xi than previous leaders, but it is life and that is what they have. I enjoy visiting there, but I could not live there. Everything is paid for with a phone app now, go to a store and pay with real money, they may not even have change. But if your phone dies, you can't do anything, can't buy anything, can't ride a bus, and can't even prove who you are because your ID is on it too. It sounds convenient, but it is a great way to know where your people are and what they are doing all the time too. Cameras everywhere in large cites, they are use to them, I feel a bit paranoid, but not really all that worried. But with those cameras understand you are being watched.

Big difference from when I was there almost 20 years ago and today. Much more restricted and controlling today.... but 20 years ago it was Hu Jintao, today it is Xi....
