trangender man shoots up Christian school

Jesus taught his followers "Love one another as I have loved you", and yet the element you deal with above supports a former president who spews hate constantly. These, I've personally experienced, are some of the nastiest and least "Christian" people I have ever run across, which is also one reason why I left the fundamentalist church I grew up in decades ago. I hated to bring up politics on this, but this is the reality that we are continuously running across here and in the general public forum.
Thank you for that. I've honestly been struggling the last few years with how I can't escape reaching the same conclusion. I really don't like concluding that a lot of fundamentalist Christians are among the worst people I've ever seen, but then I peek into their world and see constant streams of racism, anti-Semitism, hate, bigotry, etc., which takes me back to when I was a kid and I saw the same things in our church and among my family. And now that their influence, power, and numbers are shrinking, it's only getting worse, mostly because it's making them even more paranoid and angry.

Throw in the comprehensive research that shows they're also not very smart people, and well.....there's that conclusion again. I don't like it, but I'm not sure what else to do.

Not to mention that I don't understand how he could have legally bought guns if he was in treatment for emotional problems.

Extreme Risk Protection Orders | Mass.gov

WebAn Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO), also known as a red flag law, is an order from a judge that suspends a person’s license to possess or carry a gun. An ERPO directs a person to surrender their license to possess/carry a gun and any firearms, rifles, shotguns, …
s I understand it Tennessee has no 'red flag' laws in place. Nothing to draw attention of authorities when purchasing a gun.

I'm sure by now that all of you have heard the news of teh school shooting in Tenessee. I figured I'd start a place for us to discuss it. The bare facts so far is that the shooter identifies as a transgender man, although most articles I've read seem to refer to him as she/her. Wonder what that's all about? Anyhow, he is a former student from the school.

Question: is this a targeting of a religion because it won't go along with teh transgender ideology? Because if that is the case, then this is a hate crime. We can only wait and see what investigation reveals. So far, the state's representative is calling for the shooter's manifesto to be made public. I think that's a good idea.
I think it is totally irrelevant whether that is a hate crime or not. It is a crime, and any other adjective attached to it is superfluous.

The question is why it is so easy for deranged people, independently of their sexual orientation, or agenda, to get access to weapons that can so easily cause the death of innocent children. I would suggest that anyone making it so easy for them, is also somewhat responsible for that.

No, it wouldn't have been "crazy right wingers" except to a few.

Now, either way, the deaths are tragic. But this a person who needs help, same thing I'd say to anyone doing this sort of crime.

Did the Xian school cause the issue? Well it's possible that they contributed, but blame hardly ever false squarely on one set of shoulders.

Which is why blame is stupid, and we should focus on the "why", this occured.

"we should focus on the "why"

I 100% agree with that. Blaming guns isn't focusing on the "why" IMO.

It’s not for nothing that Jesus made this prophesy at Matthew 7:21-23…

It is a wrong deed done by him, the same way, if a Christian would shoot a transgender person, that would be also wrong, right, please?
We, whatever our gender, must have peace within us and outside us, in no case we are to harm others, pleas, right?
Please YES. For once we agree. :)
It is as bad as a Christian shooting a transgender parade , all humans are to be respected, right, please?:

Indeed, We have honoured the children of Adam, and carried them by land and sea, and given them of good things and exalted them far above many of those whom We have created.

I can't think of a single person who disputes that the shooter did something evil. Even the LGTB community agrees it was inexcusable. The fact that they were trans is irrelevant to whether what a person does is right or wrong.
