Trump and Kim fail to reach agreement

You can go to South Korea and Japan, the talks ending without a deal means nothing for travel. You can even go to North Korea, but that's probably not ethical at this point.

Trump-Kim talks break down over sanctions

I'm disappointed because I've been planning to see South Korea and Japan for a very long time. I wanted to go this year.
I think you would still be safe to go. NK is a nut case but I think you would be fine.

In regards to your article, this isn't surprising. Kimmy does this with every administration and is as reliable as a wet napkin.

You can still go to either. Donny and Kimmy will probably continue to bark at each other, but travel to SK and (especially) Japan should not be effected.

What would stop you?

There won't be. China will tell Kim "No, bad dog!" and Trump wont start one as China will become involved. Besides just being bad US policy Trump has a company with a 500M investment in China as of 2017.

I don't understand why Trump didn't agree to the offer; Kim said that they'll dismantle the Yongbyon in exchange for lifting of sanctions

N Korea: We won't move on talks with Trump

As Yongbyon has already been gutted so they are offering what amounts to a used car with no engine. Meanwhile NK has other sites that NK doesn't even want to talk about. So no NK does not get all sanctions removed while continuing to develop nuclear and related technology and production. The point of these talks is for NK to give up those programs in exchange for removing sanctions and access to the global market.

No Surprises here. Kim is a dictator and not likely to ever voluntarily relinquish any of his power. President Trump has gotten further with him than I thought he would though. Hopefully something positive will eventually come out of it.

Honestly, unless you're ethnic Japanese and born in Japan the only Japanese who might give you any trouble (and I doubt it'd be more than much) are some of the far-Right nationalists who aren't fond of the presence of foreigners (especially Americans and the American military). But from everything I've heard and read, unless you're making an *** of yourself you just really shouldn't have anything to worry about.
I don't know much about SK, but Seoul is an international hotspot, so unless you're causing trouble I just don't see there being an issue (not unless they do go to war against NK and they restrict incoming travelers).
And most people, throughout the world, are very aware the American government isn't an overall good reflection of American people. A MAGA hat might draw unwanted attention in various parts of the world, but I doubt any nation that wasn't already hostile towards America/Americans is going to suddenly be reluctant to allow Americans in.
The outcome was really quite predictable, so no one following this should be at all surprised.
Yup. And no doubt Kimmy is using the experience for his propaganda machine. It's unfortunate, and equally not surprising, that Trump doesn't realize there is a reason past administrations have pretty much ignored NK. The message is anti-American as it is, and here along comes Trump to confirm the threats of war, bombings, and a refusal to work with NK.

Me either, but I highly doubt you taking a vacation would be a justified cause for one. :D

I don't want Japan and South Korea to be nuked by Kim. I've always dreamt of seeing Japan and these past 6 years I've been looking into Seoul and it looks cool. I want to see both Japan and South Korea before I turn 30 next June as I want to get all my tattoos by 30 and Japanese don't like tattooed people

It's incredibly unlikely he'll nuke South Korea, and less so that he nukes Japan. Kimmy may be a deified god dictator in SK, but outside of his propaganda he answers to China. And though China is bound on paper to assist North Korea, NK is so insignificant next to China they can burn that agreement with no real consequences, and I see them doing that if NK starts a nuclear war because China isn't going to want one. And China already isn't thrilled with how close them NK has had some of their nuclear testing.
