I , just like a lot of people, want to see some responsibility and accountability for policy as well as leadership by example. I think once we have that would be fine both left and right wing.I feel that way about the U.S. much of the time.

There will be no reforms or repairs to the sickness that has all but destroyed our government in the U.S. until we stop the legalized bribery that has so thoroughly corrupted it. And there is only one way I can think of to get our corrupt politicians to actually reform THEMSELVES (which is the only way short of a bloody revolution to do it). And that is to hit them in the one place that they care about the most.
It's pretty clear that the vast majority of them will do pretty much anything the keep riding that cushy governmental gravy train of 'elected office'. So much so that I actually believe that they would even reform themselves to keep their jobs if they saw no other way. And that is exactly the ultimatum that we the people need to give them. End the legalized bribery, or you will NOT get re-elected. And make that threat stick in every election, every time, regardless of whatever party they belong to or whatever else they claimed to have achieved.
End the corruption, or you're OUT. Once they see that this is the new fact of their political life, they will be clamoring to be the "new reformer" that put a stop the bribery. They will try to lie, of course, and find ways of hiding it and calling it something else, so we the people will need to stay relentless. They get no money from anywhere, but their salaries, or they are OUT. No exceptions. No bullsh*t. No "but the other guy is worse".
THEN, once the bribery is ended, they can finally begin doing the real business of governing again. Of making decision on behalf of the people they are charged to serve. Not the wealthy conglomerates that are currently bribing them every which way.
Will we ever quit fighting amongst each other and unite to do this? I doubt it. But until we're dead, we can always hope, I guess.

No, he spouts that same bland assurances and lies that we've heard in the past. He says that he doesn't know anyone who wants to shut the government down (a lie) but then admits that "time will help" to force a resolution. He is talking about the perpetual Republican hope that they can blackmail Democrats for policy concessions or risk a government shutdown. And Donald Trump, whom Kennedy knows very well, is explicitly calling for a government shutdown if Democrats don't cave on the latest election shenanigan--an unnecessary requirement that voters show proof of citizenship, even though they had to do that to be registered in the first place. The only thing he says that approaches honesty is the admission that a government shutdown is utterly stupid. He knows that Trump and his party are behind this unnecessary threat, but cries crocodile tears over how it scares people, especially seniors, when politicians like Trump manufacture shutdown crises.

Anyone who does not immediately understand why a bill that would prevent Biden from exercising his Presidential power is political theatre needs to review how a bill becomes a law.
