Trump Indicted. To be Arrested in Days.

And you'll be overjoyed to learn that Ron DeSantis has gratuitously stated that Florida would NOT cooperate in any effort to extradite Trump to New York if he decides not to turn himself in.

It probably feels good to you to know that this is a Governor thumbing his nose at the legal system in the United States. Will you be happy when all the laws are down?

In Robert Bolt's A Man for All Seasons, when Will Roper accuses Thomas More of respecting man's law over God's, and that he, Roper, would tear down the laws to get at the Devil, More responds:

“And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned around on you--where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? This country's planted thick with laws from coast to coast--man's laws, not God's--and if you cut them down...d'you really think you could stand upright in the winds that would blow then? Yes, I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake.”
It could be a very good political move on his part if he runs for President. Trump would have to be very careful where he campaigns and how he gets there if he does not turn himself in for arrest. And since at least Georgia is likely to follow suit he could end up having very few states that he could go to. Trump lives for the live campaign rallies. So Trump supporters see DeSantis as a good guy at very low cost to him. Meanwhile Trump's sole safe haven may be Florida.

If it's a federal crime, he can't do it.

Otherwise it's states rights.

The great People's Republic of New York might have to send in their KGB!

Steele did not say that this was some sort of "slam-dunk" but reported it to the CIA as a sort of heads-up.

BTW, before the Dems, the Pubs wanted to pay for his info, but that stopped once Trump got the nomination. Steele had a good reputation and had collaborated with our intelligence agencies on numerous occasions.

As a known retired MI5 agent looking for Trump dirt in Russian from intel agents it’s obvious to a doorknob that anything they said to Steele would be suspect! Even so corrupt FBI agents used the dossier to get warrants.

Hillary lost because she wasn’t a good candidate.

It begins!
I’m sure Trump is just thrilled about it; the show he gets to put on and all the publicity

I personally think it’s just another of the many distractions being thrown in front of the public to divide and divert people from more serious issues.

Considering the charges, it's all pretty much media fluff.

It's not like its 1st degree murder or something.

Let's see....8 pages into the thread and you were still going on and on with "what about Obama and Clinton". Again, following the whataboutism script to a T.
You don't understand what whataboutism is.
But I can educate you....
It's an attempt to divert attention from one issue by replacing it with another.
I seek to expand prosecution of Presidents from 1 to several.
Moreover, I've often discussed why I want Trump prosecuted.

Come on, guy.
Be smarter.
Be all that you can be.
Read better.

It turns out that I'm far from alone among non-Republicans
& non-conservatives in seeing Trump's prosecution as
political. About a third of Democrats agree.
This is not to say that he's innocent, or that he shouldn't
be prosecuted. (I favor prosecuting far more politicians.)

I agree, all politicians should be prosecuted when they commit crimes.

I am not sure his other bigger crimes are being ignored, just that this investigation by these prosecutors beat the others to the punch, so to speak. I am sure more indictments will follow.
His federal crimes haven't resulted in charges.
But a guy can hope.
Alas, it's too late to see conviction & prison.
If he wins in 2024, that'll be the end of any
chance he'll ever be held accountable.

Except for Disney Township where Trump-DeSantis find themselves stymied by the folks who brought us Goofy and the Mouseketeers.

I can just see the Disney Police coming to get him.

The cop he deserve.

You mean like trying to divert a thread from discussion of Trump's indictment by constantly asking "but what about Clinton and Obama", over the course of 9 pages. Yep.

I seek to expand prosecution of Presidents from 1 to several.

Nope, not buying it given how I've called you out on the exact same thing before.

Sticking to the actual topic, even though I expected it, I'm still amazed at how Trump being indicted for covering up payments he made to a porn actress has actually increased his support among conservatives (who are majority Christian).

They really did trade their moral souls for political power. Funny....for all their angst over how the youth have turned away from Christianity and conservatism, you'd think they'd be more strategic. But then, critical thinking has never been their strong suit.

I know.
Learning is hard for some posters.

Question...
Why do you oppose prosecuting any Presidents other than Trump?
Why do you want Trump prosecuted only for lesser offenses,
but not for sedition, insurrection, subversion, etc?

Lets see, Porn actress Stormy Daniels purportedly met with Trump 3 times and had sex once. It was consensual. She wanted to be on the Apprentice but that never happened. She tried to sell her story for $15,000 dollars but after purported threats decided not to. Then she denied that she had sex with Trump. When Trump ran for office the issue resurfaced. Her attorney and Trumps agreed on a payment of $150,000 for not disclosing the claim.

Trump paid the money himself from his home equity through some shell company and his lawyer. Apparently the crime was not disclosing it.

The soft on crime DA in NY city is pushing the issue! Its been controversial in his own office!

America will never return from this!

A grand jury decided Trump has a criminal case to answer.

As I understand it, the purpose of the grand jury process is expressly to prevent oppressive or poltiically motivated proseutions, by handing the decision to a panel of ordinary citizens. So there seems little to complain about, frankly.

And we don't yet know what the charges are, but the rumours are that there may be up to 30 of them, several relating to fraud.

When criticizing others for lack of morals
tis best to exhibit good morals oneself.
