Trump pressing the button? Is he that far gone?

Live updates: House looks to impeachment vote, Pelosi discusses nuclear codes

Would Trump do something like that with a mentality that if he can't be president, nobody will?

Anyways I think Pelosi is a bit extreme minded here but besides, there is more than one person required to activate a nuclear strike as far as I know, I'm assuming military and additional high ranking officials are also needed and Trump can't do it himself alone.

Its not like there is a nuke button by his bed.

What do you think?

Has there been any indication he's planning on doing something like that?

While the decision to launch nukes would be discussed , in the final, LEGAL case it is the President's decision alone which is worrisome.

It's Pelosi's apparent assumption/speculation here as per the news story.

I'm wagering its to explore all possibilities and to just put it out there.

I am more worried about him inciting more violence. I am worried that we may see acts of stochastic terrorism coming from the Present of the United States. That he can encourage terrorism by promising and giving pardons.

I'm not really concerned about him starting a nuclear war. Telling the military to attack Iran? I don't think so but would not put a lot of money on the table to backup my bet.

I think it unlikely. Trump is at his core a complete coward and his m.o. has always been to have others do his dirty work - from lawyer "fixers" like Cohn to Cohen to his simpleton domestic terrorists attacking the Capitol Building. That way if whatever scam or coup he's attempting fails, he has others to throw under the bus and claim he didn't personally do anything. He's disinclined to do anything if he can't deny personal responsibility.

I think this is Pelosi pointing out the guy is unstable, perhaps in a slightly theatrical way, to get the 25th Amendment on the table. A president who can incite an insurrection, against the result of an election that did not go his way, must be considered a danger to the state. So she has a point, I think, even if he is not likely to try to trigger a nuclear armageddon.

I assume what she was seeking confirmation of is that, even if Trump were to press his red button, nothing would happen because the other guy with a red button would not be pressing his.

No.

If he was going to do something like that, he would have done it already.

She might still be mad that her laptop got stolen during the "insurrection".

And the insurrection guys had their picture taken sitting at her desk.

But I doubt it.

There could be an even bigger reason why they want Trump gone before inauguration day.

Its not like there is a nuke button by his bed.

That would be the least of my worries.

What do you think?

I think Trump was our last chance.

Trump is the last Trump.

After his "peaceful transition" speech on the 6th, he got on air force one and flew to a military base in Texas.

His planned trip to Camp David was cancelled.

It looks like the account of the guy who tracked him is cancelled, but you can try this:

It won't happen, and I'm confident saying it can't happen. He doesn't have absolute authority over the military, and it's just incredibly doubtful military leaders will stand by a nuclear attack.
However, should Trump start making the case why it should happen to a horde of screaming amd derangement supporters before him, that is where things can get bad.
