The important part is that Trump explained his predatory behaviour toward women, which turns out to be the same behaviour that landed him in court with E. Jean Carroll. The same behaviour that ended with him being civilly liable for sexual assault and defamation.

Trump had ample opportunity to make his case. Then he can appeal, like everyone else.

Unless you think that because some other people have been incorrectly found guilty then that means Trump must have been incorrectly found guilty as well. I'd like to see someone try that argument in a court room.

You brought up a very good point. This was not even a "he said she said" case. This was a "she said case, and here is evidence that supports me". Trump was too afraid to even testify. Now in a criminal case refusing to take the stand cannot be used as evidence against someone. But one can argue that in a civil suit. I am sure that Carroll's lawyers used that fact against him. The Fifth Amendment did not apply because even if they had video tape and DNA of Trump raping Carroll there would not have been a jail sentence. The Fifth only applies when there is a chance of imprisonment.
