Trump supports IVF

You see, Trump was never a serious right winger. He's just used it as a means to an end. His support of IVF, genuine or not, seems more like a move to bring more centrists and swing voters his way.

Many right-wingers support IVF on the basis of it allowing people to enlarge their families. I wouldn't consider it one of the main RW issues as it's quite compatible with some RW worldviews. I don't support it, but I have my own reasons.

In the US, many on the far right see it as "playing God" and that it could be considered peddling in human life. I've heard a preacher call it human trafficking with embryos.

Basically, it comes down to an over all struggle for reproductive rights.

This is the US tho. I've not heard it be as much of a talking point here, though it is. I wouldn't consider it among the main RW talking points. Madeleine McCann was famously an IVF baby and I think things like this push people, at least emotionally, to passively support it.

Most people in the US support IVF as well. That's why Trump is on damage control. It's possible now that a few more Americans might see the religious extremism underlying the MAGA movement.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

Trump was originally a Democrat in the past after all. Makes sense.

I never heard anyone mention Trump in relation to this issue. Not saying it didn't happen, not saying it did, just I never heard it.

"Ask who's to blame," she added later. "And I'll answer that question: When you look at the fact that the previous president of the United States was clear in his intention to hand-pick three Supreme Court justices who would overturn the protections of Roe v. Wade. And he did it. And that's what got us to this point today."

Where's the lie?

Look up at the prior post

Wade. And he did it. And that's what got us to this point today."

Where's the lie?

Precisely. And note that the first paragraph in the linked article reads:

President Joe Biden on Thursday ripped into the Alabama Supreme Court’s recent decision on in vitro fertilization as Vice President Kamala Harris and their campaign cast blame on former President Donald Trump for rolling back abortion rights with his appointments of conservatives to the U.S. Supreme Court. [ibid] [emphasis added - JS]

Anyone who doubts that MAGA and its life-begins-at-conception phalanx has enabled and energized a frontal attack on women's reproductive rights is in denial.
