Trump to FBI Director Comey: You're Fired!

I think Trump is motivated by two things, loyalty and vindictiveness. Its now being referred to as the 'Tuesday' night massacre, bringing to mind the 'Saturday' night massacre by Nixon.

We can only hope the outcome is similar.

Perhaps he just wants to make sure that Hillary Clinton goes to jail for what she's done, and he knows it's going to take a new FBI director to get the job done.
This is a new (and disturbing) interpretation.

But the subpoenas were for Flynn, in regards to the Russian investigation.

"Federal prosecutors have issued grand jury subpoenas to associates of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn seeking business records, as part of the ongoing probe of Russian meddling in last year's election, according to people familiar with the matter."

Trump is on record saying that he would not be persecuting Clinton.

Well, Mister T: what interests you is your business.
As for Trump: he doesn't brag. Leftists interpret everything about him through a fog of hate.
They've never seen honesty, don't even know what it is, so Trump must obviously be a Nazi.
They'd no doubt call that logic.

You are the type of poster that makes me glad I am me.

Well if Trump wanted to refocus attention on the Russia connection, he has certainly done that. I noticed some here suggested he is good at manipulating the media, but I think this suggest otherwise. The media is now swarming with this story, associating it to Nixon and a possible cover up. I don't think this is the end results Trump was looking for.

What? Me worry?
Eewwhh! That gives me the creeps!

Frankly, I find the man ignorant, boorish, unrefined, impetuous in the way only teens should be, self-centered and egotistical -- and frankly a clear and present danger to the world. My respect for Americans dropped immeasurably when they elected him.

Not sure how many Americans are going to lose sleep over your disappointment.

You're weird! First thing I think about before heading off to bed is "Damn... what would X-member think of my dinner choices?"

Those who believe in God have evidence of his existence. It is the atheist who lacks the evidence of God. If you simply did not have a belief in God, you would not speak of those who do believe in God as people that are making up fairy stories to fill in the gaps. If you gave those who believe an ounce of respect, you would not speak of them with such disrespect, and you would try to learn about what it is that they have that you don't have, and try to figure out how to get it. But that isn't the case. Clearly it is not about you not knowing. It is about you believing that you are somehow better, because you hate the God who so far has rejected you, and given you no cause to believe in Him.
And look what you've written: "the God who so far has rejected [me]." Clearly, you not only think you have evidence for this God (which as yet nobody has produced), but now you feel able to speak for him as well.

I think this may be the next shoe to drop-- namely to go after Hillary to detract from the investigations and the media coverage on his administration.

She committed a crime...more than one actually. But she probably wont be prosecuted. I sure hope she is. People should actually pay for their crimes.
You are assuming it was a crime to begin with. IOW, you have her guilty even before being charged.

Maybe Trumps gonna go after Obama for the treason he committed when he made that deal with Iran.
So, now you're saying that Obama committed "treason". The name for this approach often is referred to as having a "lynch-mob mentality".

And exactly what does the Constitution say about "due process", which you are blatantly ignoring. We don't assume guilt here until a trial is over, and I feel the same way about the allegations against Trump by all too many, btw. This is why an independent investigator is needed, namely to remove this as much as possible from being interfered with by those on either side of the aisle.

If we're smart, we should be losing some sleep over this.

Democracy is a very fragile form of government because there's so many "moving parts" involved, and now we have a president who has viciously attacked the judicial system and the media, and has taken actions that are very dangerous to any democracy.
And to make matters worse, no opposition party controls any branch thus, for all practical purposes, a huge segment of our checks & balance system is no longer in effect. Look at all that has happened in just over 100 days, and what has happened should be keeping us up at least a bit at night.

Ah, but is that 'mishandling' a reference to the fact it influenced the election or is it a reference to the fact the FBI didn't conclude Clinton was guilty of any criminal act?
That's a really interesting twist.

All the official reasons for dismissing Comey seem to be pointing to his unprofessionalism in offering his personal assessment of the Clinton email investigation, back in July, and his unusual step in publicly announcing the reopening of the investigation in October. These actions, according to the narrative, have caused him to lose the confidence of the American people and the elected officials, and have created a public persona which is unseemly to the office.

Which I agree with.

But it doesn't really jive with what we know about Trump, does it? Trump praised Comey's handling of the investigation. And Comey's conduct certainly helped Trump-- and Trump tends to reward those who benefit Trump.

It certainly makes more sense that any Trump outrage over the email investigation would be about refusal to persue prosecution rather than the other irregularities that benefitted Trump.

What does "it gets serious" mean?
Does Trump have to invade Mexico to cover up the economic crash before his supporters think things have gotten serious?
