It takes a proper accessment or all you have is what you see on TV. If you ask me it's not dementia but him just saying stuff amd making things up, like how we know for sure Vance is given his own admission.

For Peter Thiel, his billionaire mentor and patron, it is. I think that Musk would prefer to keep Trump around, because Trump responds positively to bribes and flattery. I wouldn't be surprised if the Silicon Valley pro-Trumpers have it in mind to find a way to sideline Trump. Vance, at least, is less capricious, and he is just a poor boy with a few million dollars in wealth right now. He is someone they know. Trump is an outsider.

It is indeed. But that could be from many things, including non-clinical issues and things althat aren't part of a mental illness, like being insecure or being taught wrong (such as rigidly taught you aren't to question authority).
We simply do not have the necessary info to access him. As I've been saying I personally believe he's doing what social media has trained him to do and say outrageous things amd even make up stories if you have to (like his claim of Muslims dancing on rooftops after 9/11).

I fully agree. But it must be by someone who is a professional, disinterested and is actually seeing Trump as a client to properly access him. I think every candidate for any public office should be screened, independently by multiple clinicians, to keep dangerous people out.

I will disagree with you on this. In the case of the Presidency his position makes it too important of an issue for the person to make the decision. Others have to make it for him and it sometimes takes public pressure to do so. If it was the average Joe I would agree with you 100%.
