Reads about right. I disagree with one thing, I believe it is gerrymandering that is keeping the GOP strong locally. Unfortunately for them you can't gerrymander the presidency. In my opinion the US is becoming more moderate but like the article implies moderates don't always make the voting booths and are much harder to control. The extreme's will donate time and money to the cause with just one sound bite and eagerly vote. To fix the problem with both major parties we need to inspire the moderates.
