Trump's Descent into Insanity?

How is selling political trading cards evidence of insanity? It has been done for years.

Is it because Trump is now doing it? Trump Derangement Syndrome is a terrible thing.
Um, just to remind you -- we are talking about someone who wants to be considered a credible candidate for the most powerful (and thus responsible) office in the United States. And possibly the world.

Worship God, as that's part of your religion -- but don't, please don't, worship this egotistical, unlettered, ignorant fool.

Idk, man. Read the Bible enough and you can come up with interpretations where God himself is some kind of "egotistical, unlettered, ignorant fool." Maybe these folks who assume that Trump is Yahweh's chosen are onto something.

What are you even talking about? I have never given Trump any money, support nor my vote. I simply pointed out, quite correctly, that he isn't doing anything out of the ordinary. Have you been to a bookstore and seen the glut of books by politicians?

I don't need you to tell me what my religion says. My religion says to not confuse mere men with demons and not spread lashon hara. Lashon hara - Wikipedia

Sold by the featured politicians themselves? As NFTs? For $99?

How many will you be buying?
Maybe you should read all my previous posts before opining. I have never bought anything nor given any money to Trump. Trump is a private citizen. If he wants to sell tchochtkes to those willing to buy them, that is his business. It isn't illegal nor immoral. And it definitely isn't a sign of insanity.

Trump must truly live in your head 24/7 rent free.

I plan to treat myself to some nice ice-cream (pralines and cream, I think). I may also put some dollars into my various savings and investment accounts. From Trump? I won't be buying (in the sense of purchasing OR believing) anything.

Have those people on that site announced a major development which are those trading cards? Is it just another example of right wing derangement syndrome? That's a terrible thing.

Yet your knee-jerk reaction is to do a dramatic running dive to his defense.

This story demonstrates that he's a grifter without scruples or self-awareness, and it's notable because such action, while not illegal or insane, should be beneath a POTUS; past, present, or potential. Some integrity and decorum should be expected from such a position.

Trump made a "big announcement" and now were were sharing our thoughts on it.

This is a funny story: ‘Losing the plot’: Trump mocked after announcing superhero card collection

What does he think he is doing to his reputation? A superhero card collection? WTF?

Or has he given up and is now looking for a new way to make money in his dotage?

I'm sure De Sanity Clause will be delighted to see this. :D

Very odd. I saw some of them on this other site: No Joke: Former President Trump Is Selling $99 NFTs of Himself | PCMag

My post wasn't about defending him. It was about pointing out the silliness of some of his detractors. You make my point.

What a stupid grandstanding stunt. Of course it doesn't have any chance of passing. But it does give us a list of Democrats that can be bludgeoned with this. This bill is a bill of attainer. ( Bill of attainder - Wikipedia ) Such bills are specifically prohibited in the Constitution, Article I, Section 9, "No Bill of attainder or Ex post facto law shall be passed." The sponsors and co-sponsors of this bill should be asked to explain this at re-election time. Dolts.

When I read your post I thought that he collected them, that would be pretty cool actually. :D

But then looking at the site you linked I got really surprised. Wouldn't be surprised if he is selling a lot.

This story sparked a bit of interest in trading cards, and I see that a 1933 Babe Ruth baseball card could be worth $5.2 million.

A 1933 Babe Ruth Baseball Card Could Sell for More Than $5.2 Million – Robb Report

The doctor’s entire collection, which includes over 1,000 baseball, football and hockey cards, will be sold at the same time. Other highlights include a Grade 8 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card that’s expected to sell for $1 million, as well as cards featuring baseball legends Ty Cobb, Lou Gehrig, Honus Wagner, Ted Williams and Cy Young. The entire collection is valued at $20 million.

$20 million in baseball cards.

So who knows? Maybe some of these Trump cards might sell for that much...or maybe not.
