George Conway was 100% right on with his tweets today regarding Trump undermining his own agenda with his Twitter account. When it comes to legal matters, there is absolutely no reason to say things like the following, completely undermining his own legal argument:
"People, the lawyers and the courts can call it whatever they want, but I am calling it what we need and what it is, a TRAVEL BAN!” Trump tweeted Monday morning.
“The Justice Dept. should have stayed with the original Travel Ban, not the watered down, politically correct version they submitted to S.C.” the president added. “The Justice Dept. should ask for an expedited hearing of the watered down Travel Ban before the Supreme Court - & seek much tougher version!”
George Conway, Kellyanne's husband, rightly rebuked Trump saying:
“These tweets may make some ppl feel better, but they certainly won't help OSG get 5 votes in SCOTUS, which is what actually matters. Sad,” Conway wrote, referring to the Office of the Solicitor General, which argues before the Supreme Court on behalf of the Trump administration."
“I said what I said this morning. Every sensible lawyer in WHCO and every political appointee at DOJ wd agree with me (as some have already told me). The pt cannot be stressed enough that tweets on legal matters seriously undermine Admin agenda and POTUS--and those who support him, as I do, need to reinforce that pt and not be shy about it.”
Trump is continually and often shooting himself in the foot. From his campaign statements to his constant contradicting of his communications team to his fabricated stories about Obama illegally wiretapping Trump Towers and 5 million people voting illegally in the past election, Trump is not only harming his own credibility, he is creating a deeper and deeper divide in the US and embarrassing the American people.
Is Trump just frustrated and unable to control himself? Or, is it a deeper issue where he just doesn't take advice or instruction from anyone when they say "stay off Twitter". Kellyanne's ludicrous excuse that the media pays too much attention to his tweets and not his actions as president ignores the fact that his Tweets ARE PRESIDENTIAL ACTIONS (they are literally Presidential Communications ... in writing too).
So, what is the deal, is Trump losing his mind?
** Any stupid comment about me or anyone else just being upset about Trump winning will be reported as trolling unless an argument/evidence is presented and an argument defending Trump's actions is included.
