Since my primary and all my secondary sources of income, in one or another, are derived from the use of a computer, it would be a bit hard to do without.

I watch TV on my computer. Who is going to buy a television, subscribe to cable and pay for the HBO package just to watch Game of Thrones?

If there is a TV show that interests me, I download it on the computer.

I was going to say that.

My computer can do anything a TV can do, and usually do it better.

On the other hand there are a lot of things my computer can do that a TV can't.

5 days without either was no big deal no withdrawl symtoms at all. Got plenty of rest and a good amount of family time.

but to be honest I typically turn both off at least twice a year.

My youngest son 7 was the only complainer and he wanted the wii and playstation to work.

I pick my stove, because being able to cook and eat food is more important than either. >_>

My TV has been unplugged for two days now, tomorrow will be day three. My computer OTOH if I'm not actually using it directly then it's still getting used either as something to watch videos or play music on.

I will go with the computer. I do not watch TV too much and mostly work a lot on the PC so naturally PC is my choice.
