Two police ambushed; some protesters yell "we hope they die"

That's what happens when the cops treat their fellow citizens like enemies and commit injustices with impunity. Of course people will hate them and wish them ill.
I guess we can't always expect decent conduct from people (especially during times of hostility) but this must be horrifying for relatives. Imagine having to listen to people chant that your child/parent/spouse should die because of the job they do?

That aside, even the bad cops deserve to treated with humanity.

As mentioned, I've heard the narrative on Fox multiple days. I was able to find video of Pete Hegseth (reading a teleprompter) and mentioning it.
Your video does not say that protesters blocked the injured officers from getting to the ER.
It merely says that protested blocked the ER.

Start at 2:14. That's the narrative.

1. "Not only do you shoot 2 officers in the street....."
2. "Then you block the ambulance at the hospital...."
3. "Chanting "we hope they die"

To the layman, there was no information provided on timeline. The viewer is left believing a false narrative that....

1. BLM/Antifa ambushed officers
2. BLM/Antifa blocked emergency room
3. BLM/Antifa yelled "we hope you die" as the officers passed the emergency room blockade

That's what people believe. Clever propaganda can say something without saying it.

So now you are saying that it was not said, but it is what people believe?

This appears to be nothing more than good old fashioned back peddling.

I used to but there are too many bad cops that are getting exposed for me not to feel a twinge of fear every time I see one and I'm a 75-year old white male.

But I share @Jayhawker Soule 's disgust.
Could you give it as a percentage? Bad new usually gets more attention than good

Did you listen to the video?

Here's a test which I could ask 100 Trump supporters.

"Did BLM/Antifa ambush officers, block the ambulance and yell "we hope you die" to the officers?"

What percentage would say yes?

See Anti-Police Protesters Yell 'We Hope They Die' Outside Hospital Where Wounded Deputies Were Taken

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – After two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were wounded in an unprovoked ambush-style shooting in Compton, an anti-police protest unfolded outside the hospital where both were taken for treatment.

Deputies responded to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood, Calif. on Saturday evening where protesters converged outside of the emergency room with some yelling, “We hope they die.”

This is disgusting beyond words.

I don't condone violence and the best way to resolve our differences is in a peaceful and rational manner. That being said, what do you do when peaceful means of resolving a dispute is impossible? How many videos of black men being murdered have to come out with the officers responsible not being held accountable before people start seeking revenge/justice on their own? People can only take so much before they snap/strike back. Just heard about a new story today about US Marshall's assassinating someone they were supposed to arrest.

Exactly... but now they have painted all policemen as bad.
Some have, and some have undoubtedly done it the other way as well.

As you well know, I chafe at the use of stereotyping regardless of who does it and/or which "tribe" they may belong to or be against. And it's the "tribe" part that I also find so troublesome as well, whereas my "tribe" wears white hats, your "tribe" wears black hats, and heaven forbid if anyone dares to try and be in the middle.

I used to play in a softball league for years when in my 20's, and the team I was on was mostly police and firemen. Let me tell ya that if you think many of them ain't as racist as the day is long, I got some bad news for ya. But it's also the other way as well, as I worked for several months at an inner-city Boys Club, and two of the directors, who were black, were staunchly anti-white racists.

IOW, we need to cry "foul" when there's a foul, regardless of which "tribe" we may be on. I was brought up to be a Republican but abandoned any affiliation with that party largely due to overt racism back in the 1960's. Even though I vote Democratic much of the time today, I do occasionally vote Republican, but what I also do is to get on any Dems case that is doing wrong, such as Bill Clinton, John Conyers, and Al Franken, all three of which I felt should resign and the latter two did.

So, when I see people today flocking towards a politician that is the antithesis of what Judeo-Christian morals teaches while claiming to be a true believer, it turns my stomach. How can one do that and then live with themselves and their supposed religious faith is beyond me? All too many people have crucified themselves on the cross of political tribalism, imo, and this even goes back thousands of years in both Judaism and Christianity.

Sorry for the rant.:(

Wow.
Instead of addressing the point, you now act as though the point was never the point.
And to aid in distraction from that fact, you make a sad attempt at insulting my intelligence?
If I had not watched your presented lvideo, and a bunch of others none of which make the claim you claimed they claimed, how would I know that the claim you claimed was never claimed by the media?

Fact is, what you claim was claimed was not claimed.
Period.

Yes I can see and understand why you would have thought it.
But the fact remains it was not said.

You don't understand propaganda then.

I could ask 100 Trump supporters and they'd agree "Antifa/BLM ambushed cops, blocked their ambulance and yelled insults as they passed by"

Try it, go ask a Trump supporter and they'll agree as well. As mentioned, skillful propaganda can say something without actually saying it. It's insinuated.

That's a very good question. I agree that bad news gets more attention which is why I have a number of 'good news' web sites I visit every day.

And I think it's also true that bad cops have been with us but only now are their misdeeds becoming visible partly due to most everyone have a phone that can take movies and the willingness of the media to report those stories.

And as someone who has been a union supporter, sad to say that too often the union wants to cover up the misdeeds rather than weed out bad apples.

I also can't answer your numbers question. i wish I knew. But I think it's likely that it's dependent on the leadership of the department. Departments with leaders that don't tolerate misdeeds will have less of it.
