Some have, and some have undoubtedly done it the other way as well.
As you well know, I chafe at the use of stereotyping regardless of who does it and/or which "tribe" they may belong to or be against. And it's the "tribe" part that I also find so troublesome as well, whereas my "tribe" wears white hats, your "tribe" wears black hats, and heaven forbid if anyone dares to try and be in the middle.
I used to play in a softball league for years when in my 20's, and the team I was on was mostly police and firemen. Let me tell ya that if you think many of them ain't as racist as the day is long, I got some bad news for ya. But it's also the other way as well, as I worked for several months at an inner-city Boys Club, and two of the directors, who were black, were staunchly anti-white racists.
IOW, we need to cry "foul" when there's a foul, regardless of which "tribe" we may be on. I was brought up to be a Republican but abandoned any affiliation with that party largely due to overt racism back in the 1960's. Even though I vote Democratic much of the time today, I do occasionally vote Republican, but what I also do is to get on any Dems case that is doing wrong, such as Bill Clinton, John Conyers, and Al Franken, all three of which I felt should resign and the latter two did.
So, when I see people today flocking towards a politician that is the antithesis of what Judeo-Christian morals teaches while claiming to be a true believer, it turns my stomach. How can one do that and then live with themselves and their supposed religious faith is beyond me? All too many people have crucified themselves on the cross of political tribalism, imo, and this even goes back thousands of years in both Judaism and Christianity.
Sorry for the rant.
