That is amusing, but because I'm pretty close with personal information---witness protection program and all ;)---I doubt you'll ever learn much.

K, lemme just start working for the NSA. I hear they have great celebrity magazines. Then we can have a Skwim tell-all. :D

"Detriment to society" covers a wide range, and no individual is exactly average.

I can't speak to your personal case, but do you understand how a person can think that car culture is harmful overall while still considering, say, Meals on Wheels as generally good?

I don't know enough about you to say that you necessarily are okay or not.

What are you talking about car culture? Religion isn't driving or swimming, where some people drown. Religion is human action. You want to insult people and still seem ok. You're not.

Yes, it's human action. And much of it is for bad, not for good.

I understand why a religious person would be offended at hearing someone say that religion is generally more bad than good, but this wasn't my goal.

It's usually when a Christian reads the Bible and finally realizations set in concerning a few things.

It's time for a religion divorce.

I'm wondering how many Atheists were once Christians?

Majority of atheists are ex-Christians with a University education

The atheist alliance have launched a campaign to get some numbers on the sorts of people worldwide who describe themselves as atheist. So far the sample group size is 69,798 and counting, with 64% describing themselves as atheist, with the second largest group preferring the term ‘Humanist’.

A whopping 34% are former Catholics, with a further 36% from other Christian denominations. The numbers also reveal that almost 60% have a University or College level education.

Wow.

It would seem that's the key that if you study and look at the Bible through an academic lens, the truth of the matter spells itself out as a studious mind will look at the Bible more in depth as opposed to emotion and ignorance that leads people to accept the Bible on face value without thought of actually reading through it and then studying and comparing the culture and time for which the Bible was written.

Hahahahaha - not bad Skwim... but it isn't what you know... it's who you know. ;)
I've heard similar from other Christians: that they care more about fulfilling what they see as the criteria for salvation than they do about academic knowledge of the religion... and often don't care at all about knowledge of other religions.

... which is one way you get atheists knowing more about religion than devout believers do.

Or it would seem that the United States has a high proportion of Christians, so a high proportion of its atheists are former Christians.

And do i have a reason to investigate this atheist alliance?

Who would know more about cars in general: someone who has tried out many different cars but found none to his liking, or someone who has only ever driven the one car they inherited from their parents and refuses to even look at any other?

Most atheist spend the time learning abour religion before they become atheists. It's often a big part of the reason they become atheists.

Why do medical researchers spend so much time studying diseases they don't want to get?

So throw the baby out with the dirty diseased bathwater?
