U.S. Atheists Know More About Religion Than U.S. Christians

I've heard similar from other Christians: that they care more about fulfilling what they see as the criteria for salvation than they do about academic knowledge of the religion... and often don't care at all about knowledge of other religions.

... which is one way you get atheists knowing more about religion than devout believers do.

Yes... we have all types of Christians, babies, young, carnal, mature, spiritual, children, fathers... all types.

What good there is in atheism that can't be reached without it???
The benefits a person gets from leaving their religion depends on the religion.

I remember seeing some merchandise from an ex-Christian atheist with the slogan "sleep in Sundays. Save 10%."

So angry.

So passive-agressive.
Sounds like you're projecting.

Oh please. Who goes to church on sundays? That is so extra. So not really a good example.

Idk, Idk. It's always the atheists throwing insults and not answering the simplest of questions properly.

What baby?

Seriously - what good is there in religion that can't be achieved without religion?

The baby is the consistent tenents in all religion. A soul, a afterlife, a God. Theres evidence for those things (no im not going into the evidence on this thread). Just because theres false, evil, bad stuff in religion does not mean theres no truth in any of it.

By rejecting religion period, you reject a piece of reality.

I dont consider it a waste of time. It sharpens my knowledge.

But if i wer an atheist, it would not make sense to me, unless i doubted my atheism.

Do you doubt your atheism?
I'm not an atheist. As my avatar says, I'm an agnostic. So, do I doubt that I have doubts? Not at all.

Except that it doesn't.

I have never been told to believe anything in Church.
I was confirmed a Lutheran so I know this is false. We were all told that humans are saved from their sins by God's grace alone, and that if one doesn't belief so one is unworthy of confirmation. Then there are all the other things one is told to believe in order to be a good Christian and deserving of heaven.

I wasn't there with you. But neither were you with me.

Not very surprising, to be honest.
The majority of Christians in America seem to place a greater emphasis on complaining about their "prosecution" and forcing their regressive agenda on people than actually doing what Jesus supposedly taught.
