Ukraine war positivity thread!

Both American wars with Iraq were extremely ugly, but the first one liberated Kuwait, and the second one overthrew Saddam Hussein!

I think most people agree Saddam Hussein was an evil man, but I am against America overthrowing him, and how many people died to do so, and worse regimes that rose to power as a result, but I suppose you can say, an evil man like that losing power , is a good thing in it of itself.

I'm just saying, even in something very ugly, there can be good things that result from something ugly. The Crucifixion of Christ was ugly, but Christians say it was a great , good thing , that redeemed humankind!

What is happening in Ukraine is terrible! The biggest plane in the world was destroyed, Ukraine is one of the main places wheat comes from, if the war prevents people from planting wheat in the very soon planting season, that sucks for so many people!

People are dying, people getting injured, people talking about weapons of mass destruction, world war 3.

Anything positive going to come from it?

I live in the Twin Cities, where George Floyd was murdered by police!

The city was being looted and burned.

What I can say is, I volunteered to board up windows to stop stores from getting looted, I met cool interesting people, I saw lots of charity, altruism, heroism, people coming together!

That side of it was actually positive!

Maybe the conflict with Ukraine does have that effect on some people?

War is never positive, but positive things can take place during war, like the liberation of slaves from the American Civil war (for example)!

War is ugly, it is hell! But in ugly hellish situations, it can cause good consequences, silver linings! Many people have conversions , changes of heart, revolutions of morality and soul and mind, during great chaos, danger, desperation, and suffering!

Do you see any of those?

Always look on the bright, side of life...I'm going to sing this song next time I am in the ER with a broken bone , when my arm comes out of socket next, or when my Dad dies or something:

In every conflict we see both the good and bad in people, we see the ugliness of senseless death and the beauty of people giving refuge.

In every man there lives two wolves, I'm sure you've heard that parable. We become the one we feed. We see the good and evil in the people involved, but do we see it in ourselves?

Perhaps God will work a miracle yet and the little Ukrainian David will defeat the Goliath Russian.

Nothing is going to justify what is happening. And quite frankly I always get nervous when people try to justify evil.

But there are always moments of kindness and compassion, moments of joy and love. Not because of this war, but in spite of it,

Agreed, evil is never justified, but according to Christianity, the crucifixion of Christ was a good thing.

I'm not saying I agree with it, I think any violent murder of an innocent person is wrong, but Christians believe God wanted it to happen as a sacrificial lamb of God, offered up to atone for sin.

But Russian invasion of Ukraine can never be justified in any way. That isn't what I'm saying!
