Ukrainian soldiers hiding their tanks in residential neighborhood

Ukrainian soldiers hiding their tanks in residential neighborhood.

I would hope they are indulging in urban warfare after evacuating all the ukrainian civilians over there to a safer zone, which is their primary duty.

Territory lost , can be regained , but life lost is lost forever.

Hope the international community can bring the two sides to a ceasefire and open up diplomatic negotiations again. The west should also keep off from Ukraine, as their extending their influence to Ukraine is what caused this war in the first place due to an insecure Russia wary of western intentions.

It's called guerilla warfare.

Like it or not, the underdog uses it to level the playing field. Oh, were there supposed to have rules in a war?

I wouldn't say that's totally accurate. It was caused by the majority of the Ukrainian population's resentment towards their pre-Euromaidan government for its pro-Russia stance, when they were more Europe-aligned. Such sentiment has no doubt been encouraged by Western governments, but that seems no bad thing.

Nah, they are supposed to play nice and leave them in the open, that way they are easier to see by blind squirrels.

Yes, but since NATO is still in existence after the cold war has ended ( gee, what is the reason for that ),and with europe extending its influence to ukraine, this is bound to create insecurities in Russia who would see it as a threat close to its borders.

This probably escalated tensions and the present conflict.

I would say the onus is now on Europe to reduce Russia's insecurities in this regard . Dismantling of NATO is a first step along with confidence building measures with Russia.

If a thermonuclear war erupts between the west and russia over power politics in ukraine, there will be no winner and only losers in all sides.

And the likes of China, India, Japan and Brazil would have to step up to take up world leadership at that point of time and to steer the world out of the chaos, nuclear winter and accelerated global warming conditions.
