The United Nations’ humanitarian agency OCHA on Thursday appealed for a record $41bn to help 183 million people who are the most in need of life-saving assistance – up from the $35bn requested for 2021 and double the amount sought four years ago.

I have been looking at CrisisWatch since January, and every month the are far more deteriorating nations in stability every month. Also the climate change needs will only get worse in the future.

How can we keep up with the needs of people in the world with voluntary contributions to those poor people? Also how selfish are the richer nations of the world that we can't provide $41 billion to them? This is self-centered nationalism.

I don't think money is even the true bottleneck. It's other things like world leaders, corruption, greed, bottlenecks in getting food to people before it's wasted, laws from one country to the other on handling the distribution of the assets with that money given mysteriously "leaking out" along the way, etc. Those sort of world problems.

Depends where the money actually goes. I doubt a significant amount ever ends up where it's supposed to if any.

Get rid of the cancer first, and maybe some good things will happen for the intended recipients.

In the U.S. only 15% of the Federal budget goes to Defense. Over 50% goes to Social Security and healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. Do you want to reduce Social Security or Medicare funding?

I think the United Nations is seeing fulfillment of Bible prophecy that we are in the last days of badness on Earth.
If the majority lived by the Golden Rule life style this would Not be the self-centered case today - 2 Timothy 3:1-5,13.
Besides climate crisis, we can see the fulfillment of Luke 21:11 an increase of pestilences.
So, humankind is at risk in more than climate change.
Drugs and vaccines may be creating just an illusion of competence but pestilence continues to remind us that technology is still in the diaper stage much to the dismay of health professionals and even the public in general.
Pestilences thus ties in with the ' ride of the pale horse ' - see Revelation 6:8.
What man is saying as solutions may very well prove to turn out to be great lies of this century that man with his technology can save us. There is No way to bribe the 'Horseman' or to ignore climate crisis and the immutable presence of pestilence.

I couldn't get a clear answer on how the money is distributed just now looking at the OCHA site. Of course this is just a relatively quick survey.
