This is me talking about the changes and experiences of T 6 months in. Im now a little over 6 months on T. Just went in for my 6 month appointment had my blood drawn. Everything was normal except my T levels were too high.. It was 1070.7. So my doctor is now decreasing my shots from 200 mg to 150mg and i have to get bloodwork in 6 weeks.

Aside from that I've been very happy. Very calm. Emotionally while I can be more irritable mostly ive been calmer and happier then I was. I also feel more affectionate tho it's unknown to me if that's due to T or just me simply being happier and more confident.

Physically I've gained weight. I was 98 pounds before starting now im 120. I eat a lot. I've gained muscle. My shape is different and my face looks different. My voice has deepened. A lot. I'll post a recording in a little bit. Ive started gaining facial hair. Body hair has increased. I sweat more and smell different. One unexpected change is my limbs fall asleep faster. Thats apparently common. I also drink more water. A lot more water. I have mixed changes regarding energy. Sometimes I have a ton more then a human should have and other times i just sleep. My T levels due to them being too high currently ive been struggling to sleep at night. I do have a lot and i mean a lot of acne now my back is covered. My libido has gone up. I won't go into details here about that nor will I discuss genital changes. My periods are gone but lately the past two weeks ive had pelvic pain. My doc says we will adjust the T and see if that fixes it. If not it's likely due to atrophy and I'll likely have use a low dose estrogen cream to fix it. The cream would be too low dose to affect my T therapy. I also get hot too easily.

Here's a before photo of me before T

So I'm much happier then i was preT. Now I feel more confident. One thing tho a couple months ago they had to lower my dosage because my levels were too high higher then a cismans. To avoid t converting to estrogen amd such They had to lower my dose. The levels are now back in a normal range. When my dosage was too high there were problems. My sex drive was waaaaay too high, I was irritable, and I couldn't sleep. Luckily they lowered it.

Im much much more muscular now. Ive gained weight because of it. I'm eating a lot. My midsection is larger due to thickening of cartilige. Im hairer. There's body hair starting to grow on my stomach and chest. Not a lot but more then there was. Im starting to get facial hair. My face is more masculine. Im getting a lot of hot flashes lately...the drop in estrogen causes menopause-like symptoms. I sweat a lot more a lot more. Skin is oilier. My back is covered with acne but im getting it under control. Voice seems to have leveled out.

All in all im really happy. I wouldnt change things.

Tmi changes but important for anyone considering transition...
starting T I started having bottom growth within the first week. Due to the swelling peeing was an issue. That problem stopped after a little but now I'm having symptoms and these didn't start till recently of urogentital atrophy. Many starting T know that T causes the opening to the vagina to strink, for there to be dryness which can be irritable walking, and the lining thins. They only tend to talk of the vaginal atrophy aspect not the urethea aspect. But no one talks about how T affects the urethea as well. Again T causes menopauselike symptoms due to the estrogen levels dropping. The symptoms of urogentital atrophy are similar to if the person was going through menopause. Having to pee a lot more, straining to pee, etc. This is importamt to discuss thats why im posting it here since its never talked about anywhere. I did not know urethea atrophy was a thing.

As a result my doc has put me on a low dose of vaginal estrogen. Which helps both the vagina and urethea. It is too low a dose to affect T therapy and seems to be helping. The ways to deal with urogentital atrophy are a lot of the same treatment options for AFAB folk going through menopause...and differs on what you trying to treat. If it's just dryness for example (and that is very uncomfortable just walking with that is) you may not need estrogen a mostiurizer like replens could help. That's all I figured I'd include with the TMI. Just to help folk make informed choices in case anyone reading this is considering transition or know someone who is.
