well what can you say does the us have padres in the ranks ? is it a secular army pronbably not, it would be interesting to note the comparison of theists and non theists in the armed forces, i personally dont beleive padres etc should be paid by the government. thats my government of course the UK , its not new to have soldiers thinlk that god is on their side the AL Quieda definately thinks that .
That's well and good, but this is group-think to establish religion among the ranks by intimidation. Because officers are commissioned by Congress, it violates the "no religious test" clause of the Constitution.
Too bad articles are so transitory. It was about how certain fundamentalist evangelicals are taking over the officer corps of the US military, and it reminded me of what they have in Pakistan.
