@Nowhere Man made a joke about needing a subforum for all the stuff on Trump in another thread, but I'm just going to run with it and see if it makes sense. as pointless discussions on US politics go, this could be more constructive.

Given that RF is made up primarily of Americans, US politics comes up alot and "North American Politics" sub-forum is largely used for the purpose. however, we've been discussing this since at least 2016 non-stop and will be for the foreseeable future. And we're all looking forward to it ......

.....aren't we?

Would it therefore make sense to have a specific sub-forum for the purpose (say under Political Debates) that covers specifically US Presidents and Presidential elections? US politics is often focused on the person of the President reflecting the (potentially excessive) centralisation of political power in the executive branch. love him or hate him, we are going to be talking about Trump for a long time, especially if impeachment proceeding gets *cough* "somewhere and still going to bring up Clinton/Obama to paint him as a lesser evil, so maybe we should just run with it and agree it can happen all in one place?

anyways, I know not alot comes out of proposing new subforums, but as ideas go maybe there is a sort of need to deal with the daily turnover of "Trump said what on twitter?", "Hillary would have been worse" and "why are you bringing up Hillary when tiny hands has the launch codes? are you insane or just republican", "At least my candidate had balls", or "I wanted Bernie and got ***** face instead".

Just a thought. If anyone needs me, I will be developing an unhealthy but reassuring relationship with Alcohol to take the edge off reality. Cheers!

I voted "Yes I want beer for every post".

Do we get to pick the brand?

I think we should just all agree to stop making a thread whenever Trump says some stupid and bigoted thing. His blatant bigotry and disdain for what is true hasn't affected any of the Trump supporters around here, so there's no point even bringing it up at this point.
It is sad to hear this opinion expressed.

We have done nothing but normalise Trump's bigotry over the last few months. Longevity is on his side. I don't see the point on focusing on every tiny thing he does which is smaller than the other things he's done already.
It is reminiscent of resignation is all.

Can I ask for whiskey instead of beer?

I have consumed more alcohol since last November than I have the rest of my life.

I would have no problem with a separate forum for all the Trump threads. Although it doesn't make that much of a difference to me either way. However, it might be better if all of it was put into the same thread, since every thread started on Trump always turns into the same, exact discussion.
