US Supreme Court rules state can prohibit ballot canvassing and voting outside precincts

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled to uphold a challenged Arizona voting law. The law prohibits a voter from using a polling place outside his own precinct. It also prohibits most people from turning in ballots for others. (There is an exception for collecting ballots for those with disabilities.)
This canvassing is sometimes referred to as ballot harvesting.

The Court opinion specifically says that such state restrictions do not violate the Voter Rights Act. In other words such restrictions are not discriminatory against anyone, including minorities.

Republicans, scared of the dark and a problem that doesn't even exist. And still they march to the beat of idiocy and paranoia despite them falling flat on their faces during their big days in court to demonstrate there long-screamed about problem is really a problem.
It's utter rubbish America is already one of the hardest places to vote in. It's not this restrictive, time consuming, or demanding in the rest of the developed world. We need to catch up, not continually take steps backwards to inconvenience voters even further than they are.
But, we all know why. The more people they exclude and discourage the better their chances. That's something Trump was right about.

That provision especially is whack because that one does have a detrimental influence on native tribes in the area. A lot of them live way far away from the city, have no mailbox that's easy to get to, so it's not unusual for one person to "harvest" the ballots and drop them off in town.

Exactly, and the Navajo Nation isn't a small area...

Nonsense. An individual can still mail their ballot.

The Navajo reservation have precinct polling places and individuals can mail their ballots in Arizona.

Have you been to the Navajo Nation? The place is as big as a state - in fact, it spans several states. Everything is spread out, and the villages are small. Not everyone there even has the ability to use the mail system without driving huge distances to get to villages that are big enough to have one... Why is this precaution even needed? Seems to be just another thing in place to punish people even more who have already been punished enough as it is. o_O

Did you miss the part that may not actually be the case? And did you also miss the part where some live in very remote locations? They are the ones who often rely on someone to collect the ballots and drop them off in town when a trip into town is made.

It's a huge victory for states rights and protecting the integrity of the voting system.

I don't see the rest of the world as being any better or worse than we are on the matter of vote integrity.

I doubt it's any more greener over there than it is here.

Here and there we both have elections of high integrity. But there does it easier, more simple, more convenient, and doesn't do the stringent restrictions.

No - "in other words" a right-wing court made a right-wing determination about the restrictions, motivating you to gloat. There is nothing surprising here.

Yes, as it happens I have. Have you? They have U.S. Mail service on the Navajo reservation, even in rural areas. Just like other rural areas of the country.
