I had the pleasure of watching this wonderful movie for the second time yesterday, and I love it.

The filming is magnificent, the crazy story, everything... amazing acting... it's all wonderful.

What do you think about this film?

You are the single other person I've met who enjoys it.
It is all as you describe.
Additionally, I like the leisurely pacing of the plot & lack of predictability.

Btw, welcome aboard!

I have avoided the film, mainly because of the two main actors... I just have a strong disliking of them.

But, now I want to watch it just to see whether it is any good.

I've only seen the original Spanish version, Abre los ojos. It's a real mind-blower.

I admit I avoided Vanilla Sky because I'm not a Tom Cruise fan.

I had my first lucid dream ( that I remember, anyway ) after watching this over at a friends house and falling asleep afterwards on the couch.

Absolutely loved this movie.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
If it wasn't for having to look at Tom Cruise for two hours, it would have been a fantastic movie.

I can't even find the words to use that best describe my dislike of both the man and his acting skills or lack thereof.

But at least this wasn't as painful an exhibit to watch as his hatchet job in "Valkyrie."

I agree, even though it would have been horrible, he could have at least attempted to act like he was german. Take on an accent or something.

I know -it was so lame, I couldn't really believe that I was actually sitting in a theater watching it.

Honestly, even a BAD German accent would have been better than none at all. And how hard is a bad German accent to do? "Vy isn't dat bomb goink off as we planned it? Scheiße, dis could get nasty! Mein Gott, vat haff I got meinself into? And viff just tree fingers on von handt!"

i saw the originl spanish version Open Your Eyes (Abre los Ojos)and loved it, so i was pretty disappointed in the remake, i didnt care for it at all. remakes rarely ever hold up to the original versions. i heard the remake of girl with a dragon tattoo was alright but i have no desire to watch it, and Let me in was a decent remake of Let the right one in, but still the original was better. some people dont like sub titles, but i dont mind them at all
