hey guys how are you all ?

i am vedic from India, i am 17 and i recently started following Vedism and left Hinduism. now i am trying to spread Teachings to Rig Veda and i am currently learning/reading/understand Rig Veda. and my Fave. Gods are now Indra and Agni,Rudra and surya.
(and if you guys are wondering, my caste is Brahmin)

i stopped Idol worshiping and now i only chant Mantra sitting alone(not in front of Murti). (Idol worshiping is mostly banned in vedas).

As a western convert, I think of 'Vedism' as a subset under the umbrella term called 'Hinduism'. I like keeping us all under the Hindu umbrella myself as a statement of ultimate unity.

Well, looks like we'll have a lot to discuss. Welcome.

Are you part of Arya-Samaj, by any chance?

It will be a long time before you will understand Vedas, so keep 'spreading Vedic teachings' in abeyance for a few decades. Aryans themselves purchased Indra idols from the panis, therefore you cannot take idols to have been prohibited in Vedas. Vedics accepted to be a part of Hinduism at least four thousand years ago when they had settled in the valley of the disappeared River Saraswati (supposed to have happened in 1,900 BC). Why do you want to revoke an agreement to which our worthy ancestors agreed? (I am a Kashmiri Saraswat brahmin, and Kashmiri brahmins delight in non-veg food. When there is non-veg food on the table, the lentils (dal) generally are forgotten)
