Very Cool Weapons

I was watching this thing on discovery channel about new weapons. This one is actually very similiar to the "Super Dragon" on the Perfect Dark game for the Nintendo 64. Its an assault riffle with a very high rate of fire that also has a built in grenade launcher. And it looks just like the Super Dragon. The show said the new gun should replace the M-16 (?) as the armys standard issue in the near future.

No such thing as a COOL weapon. they are all bad.

High rate of fire is not the answer. Hiting what you aim at is.
But who wants to kill people.

I must have been influenced by my mum; she never even wanted me to have toy guns when I was small; I hate weapons - and I can't say that I am that impressed by those who make and sell them.:(

I thought it was interesting that a gun that is made today would look similiar to a gun that was made in a game several years earlier.
I am a firm believer that a high rate of fire does nothing but waste ammo. If someone is a good shot, it should only take one or two at the most to kill. Slightly off topic, but I sometimes play paintball using a pump gun, which means the gun has to be pumped before each shot. I will usually out do people with semis and autos. Acuracy is better than rate of fire any day.

so very true. I think I love the idea that sports exist for that very reason. Man can channel his aggresive nature and nobody has to die.

I'd argue that there are some very cool weapons... when you aren't using them to harm people.

Mastering use of a weapon in a way that doesn't hurt others doesn't strike me as bad. I find competitions where a contestant does a routine to show what they can with a weapon quite enjoyable--and it doesn't hurt anyone.

From what Ive gathered, if your hiding, shoot only once, for youll be spoted on the second shot. Ive never tested this on anything except online FPS games, and I hope I never have to test in real life.

As others have already stated, some weapons are cool, if thier used for recreational purposes. I think wooden sparing swords are one of the coolest things ever. Nothing but bruises and an ocasional welt, maybe a bone fracture, comes from thier use. I think some paintball guns are cool. I tend not to like the realistic looking ones that are modeled after real guns, because they draw in more heat to a harmless sport that already gets enough negative attention. Im gonna start a new thread debating stuff like that.

I have a b.b. rifle at my dads house, its great fun to take it out and shoot coke cans. Guns are fun to use for marksmanship, but not for killing.

I havent fired my bb gun in a long time. I have shot mainly my airsoft's for fun, since plastic airsoft bbs cost much less than thier smaller, metal counterparts. Does anyone know if B.B. is supposed to stand for anything?

I used to be awesome with a BB gun... I practiced all the time and ended up being about to hit the string that held our birdfeeder up from about 20 feet away. :)

I won several markmanship awards in cub/boy scouts with a BB gun. I never thought they was hard to shoot, since the recoil is very minimal to nonexistant.
