Well Vice President Pence joins the short list of VP's that have had to cast the tie breaking vote in the Senate. He cast his vote on the conformation of Elisabeth DeVos as Education Secretary

First time in history for a cabinet appointment to happen this way, which goes to show how unpopular a choice this was. Hopefully she'll do better than predicted, and won't succeed in allowing tax dollars to go to for profit and religious schools like she wants.

Edited for clarity.

If you had any illusions that our right-wing politicians work for the people, this should put the nail in the coffin. Our children will be safe from Grizzly Bears and any form of critical thinking.

So, instead of finding a candidate that can be confirmed by a Republican controlled Senate, he doubles down.

That doesn't bode well for the future.

Think you better check your sources for accuracy. Give you a hint it has happened 245 times by 36 VP's
List of tie-breaking votes cast by vice presidents of the United States - Wikipedia
A 50-50 deadlock over her confirmation was broken by Vice President Mike Pence who became the first vice president ever to cast a tie-breaking vote for a cabinet nominee.
That is from an article by NBC. Maybe it's that fake news mainstream media lying again.

They have a majority and still have to resort to a tie breaker. Why not try to pass something their majority can agree on?

Vice President Al Gore cast a tie breaking vote on ,I believe it was some type of gun legislation back in the nineties. I remember the vote, not 100% sure on the legislation.
To repeat, I'm not talking about VP tie breaking being something that never happened. I'm talking about a cabinet appointment being made through VP tie break. That's what's not happened before.

For a cabinet position, yes, so I helped qualify what you posted for you.

For her to be appointed with no experience in this arena, along with her agenda to dismantle public schools that teach well over 90% of America's youth, this vote was basically the Republicans screwing America's children.

We've had to put up with her here in Michigan for many years now, and she helped pushed charter schools here that actually have been testing worse than the public schools on the average. But the racists and bigots love her because they can have government funds fiance more segregated charter schools, thus reducing monies for public schools where most of our children go.

So, between the well-being of the vast majority of our children versus making money by creating more segregated schools, the latter was far more important to them.
