Video of Veteran Confronting Panhandler over Stolen Valor

I just came across this video earlier.

It seems to be getting mixed reviews on Youtube, although there's something about it (as well as the comments) that's a bit troubling. True, the homeless guy shouldn't have lied, but the veteran is just going on and on with this harangue. Some commentators couldn't understand why the veteran was so angry, as it looks more like he's just bullying a person who obviously has issues, possibly mentally ill. There was some question as to whether the Stolen Valor law would even apply in this case.

But was the level of anger demonstrated in the video appropriate to the offense? There were those who responded that the level of anger was appropriate and that those who couldn't understand it "obviously never served," and therefore could not understand.

I've called out someone over stolen valor at the airport once. Not as aggressively as the dude in the video, I just asked basic questions he was unable to answer then told him flat out that we both know he was lying. I'get never seen it myself, but I've heard of actual soldiers themselves guilty of this. Like wearing rank, ribbons, and tabs they never earned.

I'm sorry, but i can muster little sympathy for a morally bankrupt killer-for-hire -- or for someone impersonating one.
