Huh?Never liked arguments from popularity.
That is why I like watching it. It is definitely nothing like running and throwing or kicking a ball, and the acrobatic skills, physical strength, and mental control that is required, especially for jumping from pole to pole or extending yourself outwards in a very unusual or difficult position, is mind blowing. Things like pole dancing, gymnastics, and figure skating are some of the pinnacles of the beauty, grace, and strength of the human body in motion. It can also be quite beautiful. The strength and control one must have to so some of the maneuvers is intense.
They happen quite often, actually. Cirque du Soleil regularly has acrobats dancing, spinning, jumping, and hanging from poles. Some of what I linked earlier is even a pole dancing championship.I have never heard of pole dancing that wasn't in the context of a "gentleman's club". Maybe I just don't watch enough TV. To me, it is at the mild end of a spectrum known generally as prostitution.
Because some people are ignorant prudes who do not respect the extreme amount of training and athleticism required for pole dancing? Pole dancing is very much a combination of Contemporary dance and gymnastics. How can you not see these things as athletic? As on par with some of the most difficult and intense gymnastics?I'm not going to argue with anyone here. We'll agree to disagree.
I don't believe a pole dancer is anywhere near the same class as a gymnast who trains intensely in intricate routines six to eight hours every day.
There's a reason pole dancing is not an Olympic sport.

Personally I don't see what the problem is. There's nothing wrong with pole dancing at all, and to equate pole dancing to anything sexual as an intrinsic value of the thing is ridiculous.
I've considered taking it up myself once I get moved. It's an excellent work out as it is dancing, which gets the heart beating, and because you're pretty much lifting your own weight throughout, you get very well developed muscles, which means you're burning more calories even at rest. And for the muscle you do put on, your still doing a lot of stretching so remain flexible and limber. And for me, I wouldn't be putting much on the bones of me knees. It'd probably be better for me than even biking.Saw this on the related vids, pretty cool in my opinion:
One of my friends got in shape with this and recommended it highly. There is less pain for gain there.
Traumatized by what exactly? A particular video you are taking about? Which one? I've seen nothing traumatizing here. What is seen cannot be unseen.
I. Am. Traumatized.

Men pole dance too. Did you see my post with the 3 videos? The first one is a guy and the last one has a guy in it as well.It might be good for flexibility and upper body muscle development. The outfits might be skimpy because bare skin sticks to the pole, whereas material would be too slippery. All I can say though is I am glad I have a boy.

I think all three of the videos I posted were men. And I'm willing to bet those male pole dancers are much stronger, far more athletic, and have tons more endurance than any NFL or NBA star. And in regards to football especially, their joints are being deteriorated, they aren't suffering concussions, and they aren't at the elevated risk of early-onset dementia. If I had a boy, I'd rather him pole dance than play football. Better for the heart, joints, and brain.Men pole dance too. Did you see my post with the 3 videos?
