Homophobic wannabe dictator. However, he's not as bad as the West makes him out to be because "our leaders" want to go to war with him.

He destabilizes one country and is labelled evil and horrendous. The West destabilized half a dozen countries which have spawned their own fundamentalist armies and are now wreaking havoc throughout Africa and the Middle East. Hypocrisy much?

There are no such things as good and bad leaders in a moral sense. There are only winners and losers. If he wins, history will see him as good. If he loses, history will see him as evil.

He's doing what he has to do for Russia.

It depends. He's good for picking on, with his strong anti-gay agenda yet his tendency for being shirtless and kissing his horse. Bad in that he has severely reduced civil liberties. But he is a politician.

I voted Good.
well...I think he's a capable statesman.
Lots of people accuse him of being homophobic. I think he's not.
He just thinks that talking about homosexuality in schools is not a good idea. That is, talking about homosexuality as something positive. And I agree with him
Because young kids don't have the capability of distinguishing fashion from reality and they are easily persuadable. They can easily be influenced by the idea of becoming homosexual just because they think it's cool.

honestly...I am really tired of people who go gay just to imitate the people who are born gay. That's why you see weird things happen, like a man that has straight phases and gay phases.

and I'm not homophobic. I can't be against myself

And imprisoning them, harassing them, and making it illegal to do anything the state determines to be pro-gay.

People just don't "go gay." If you ask people, it is very typically for both gay and straight people to just know. Curiosities are normal, fantasies happen, but very typically people do not switch back and forth because of a phase.

I'm not homophobic. I can't be against myself
Plenty of people are against them selves. Red States in America tend to use more in government welfare, but they vote against that self-interest. There are indeed many homosexuals who are against themselves. Before I accepted myself as a transwoman, I use to constantly beat myself up over it.

A tinpot wanna-be Stalin who has issues as is shown by his attempts to appear macho. We have to be sure we don't make the same mistake with him that we made in the 20th century. Although, to be fair, he more resembles Mussolini compared to others of that era.

.

The Russian state is against homophobia. Any homophobic act of violence, discrimination, abuse is punished by the law

"If I read this, make sure to vote?" No thanks.

I don't think my opinions on any world leader fit on a 1 dimensional scale. And it would be impossible to be impartial as I can't begin to put myself in the place of actual Russians living in Russia under his government.

I agree. History is determined by Winners. And he certainly seems to be winning.

I knew you would freak out after reading my post. But I still decided to say what I think.
The story about Putin = homophobe is just something made up to discredit him

Provide a source.

Here's mine:
LGBT rights in Russia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Targeting a LGBT person for harassment or violence because of their sexual orientation or gender identity is not addressed in any sort of law dealing with hate crimes or "bias motivated crimes".

You're just making things up.

If that is the case, then it is not to protect the gay community but to silence rabble-rousers. There is plenty of evidence to support Putin is a homophobe. Do you have any sources to verify your claim?

Here's a man who was a KGB officer who liaised with the Stasi, who has his political opponents imprisoned or assassinated, who invaded the Crimea , etc, etc. And what is this forum concerned with? What may be his views on homosexuals!
