Hey now!

Yeah, okay, you're right. But then that would make Buffalo or Detroit what? Canada on Crack... Our own little Rob Ford.

I used to live in Barrie, and Newmarket, and was never happier to see anywhere in my rearview window.

I live in Western NY about 2 hours south of Buffalo (near the PA line) and I feel much the same way about our border cities. Buffalo is a lot better than it used to be, but it has a ways to go if it wants to match Canadian cities like Toronto or Vancouver(or Americas best and brightest for that matter). And Detroit... well let's just say Detroit makes Buffalo or even Cleveland look good. That is saying something.

Ontario has its share of beautiful places. We have property on Wolfe Island (near Kingston, Ontario).

Not the major carriers. Every time I've boarded a plane, I've had to show picture ID somewhere along the way at least when passing through security to get to the gate.
This is what I do for a living. Do you really think someone who looses their wallet on vacation won't be allowed to fly back home? TSA deals with this everyday.
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification
"In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete a form to include your name and current address, and may ask additional questions to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint. You may be subject to additional screening."

I won't say anymore on the matter. (because I know I'm right;))

We have pictures on ID here in BC too. You Albertans are so old school. :)
What can you expect from a people who still live on dirt floors,
communicate by telegraph (or smoke signals), use TRS-DOS
on their typewriters, & haven't abandoned British spelling yet!?

Interesting. I note the number of occurrences of the word "may" in that section but I did not know about that security screening option.
