walked away from a 120 mph rollover.

Hi. I'm not really sure if this is posted in the right section or if this is the right kind of forum for this but here it goes.

I recently had a pretty nasty rollover in my Ford Mustang at 120 mph. I walked away from it with a scratch on one finger and a little seat belt rash on my shoulder. I missed a tree by about five feet. I don't really know why I lived, because there is really no way I should have walked away. I am Catholic so it's not like I just found God or something. I also understand how stupid I am for letting this happen.:areyoucra
Just wondering why I'm here talking..

Interesting story. My wife just went through a similar experience although not at 120MPH. She was going down a street in my truck (about 45MPH), and someone T-boned the truck and it flipped a few times. She was lucky to be alive too (the truck was demolished). Funny thing is that she became pregnant a week or so later. We've been married 11 years, and have had no kids, and haven't even used birth control. Maybe the wreck moved things around in her body properly. God works in mysterious ways. Maybe that's why you're here talking. It give you a chance to share your story, your faith in God, and how he worked in your life (just a guess :)). Welcome to the forum.

No. There was no alcohol involved. I was just going fast and had to swerve to avoid a median and lost it. I wasn't racing anyone, just screwing around when I shouldn't have.

A good reason not to pray for fertility.

The only thing I can figure is that I lost my car to scare my friends who are planning on making their cars faster and they're people who would never refuse a race. They are all now swearing they are done after seeing photos of my car and the crash site.

I had a few friends in high school do that. I myself have gotten my wife's beamer up to about 125 a few times - no issues there, but I certainly could have wrecked it.

because you are very, very damn lucky.

i know people who have been hurt and killed by speeding, mostly through getting hit by someone else speeding - 120mph?!?! frankly, you should keep off the damn road.

i know that i like to drive fast, so does my older brother - what do we do? we spend money on booking ourselves into race tracks so that we can thrash cars around a field/track, under the instruction of trained and experienced drivers, with paramedics on site just in case. i don't know if you have any amature racing organisations round where you live, but if you want to drive crazy, do it where you are sure no one else will get hurt, and where you can drive above the legal speed limits.

NEVER drive at stupidly high speeds on the roads. INNOCENT people get KILLED doing that.

You're right 100% I have learned and so have my friends from my bad judgment. For what it's worth it was on an old back road with no traffic.

I'm fairly heavily involved in auto racing (i.e. legitimate at-the-track, full equipment and safety measures stuff). I've seen plenty of incidents where, if they happened on the street, people would have died... and that's in an environment where every driver is a skilled racer, everyone knows what's going on, and all the innocent bystanders are a safe distance back behind several layers of protection.

I'm usually reluctant to use the term "stupid" to describe anyone, but not when it comes to street racing. Street racing is just stupid.

I'm sure you, he and virtually everybody else does:

United States
- road racing & Solo/autocross: the Sports Car Club of America and the National Auto Sport Association (NASA)
- drag racing: the National Hot Rod Association, plus lots of small local tracks running "test & tune" nights
- stock car racing: individual tracks all over the country
- rallying: Rally America and NASA Rallysport

Canada
- road racing & Solo/autocross: various car club regions under ASN Canada
- drag racing: the US organizations, plus plenty of small local tracks doing their own thing
- stock car racing: lots of local tracks
- rallying: the Canadian Association of Rally Sport

United Kingdom
- most racing (Brits, feel free to correct me): Motor Sports Association UK

The rest of the world
- local car clubs running under the FIA

And those are just the ones that involve cars. If we got into karts or bikes, I could go on all day. :)

And with that, I'll get off my soapbox. ;) Welcome aboard, im still livin'!

I do believe things like this happen for a reason.. Exactly what I'm not sure, but it was definitely a rude and very loud awakening for me and the people around me.

Well, still livin, you dodged a bullet that time. Hope you remember the incident in the future when the shock wears off (especially if you live anywhere near my neighborhood). ;)

You can probably thank those darned, intrusive, left wing liberal legislators, what with their crush zones, driver isolation and seat belt regs, expensive air bags, &c...

^^^^ LOL. Those pesky liberals helped save my butt... It's not something I will soon forget. The experience is difficult to explain and tough to get past. I am here to live another day, hug my family, and talk to all of you!

Smoke

Done here.
Holy fright. I've never driven anywhere near that fast; I can't imagine wrecking at that speed.
