I recently went on a college visit to the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and I fell in LOVE. The horn teacher (and I know him well) is better than I could ever hope for, the campus is GORGEOUS, location is wonderful... what struck me most about this school was how nice everyone was! The students I spoke to were kind to me, the faculty I met were all genuinely interested in me, and sat down and answered all my questions... It felt right. My gut tells me that this is the place. The one tiny little thing that I don't like so much about it is the fact that it is QUITE expensive. I was very sad about that when I discovered the price... but then I decided, hey, if I get a LOT of scholarship money, it might be a possibility (think good thoughts to me, everyone, this is going to involve a great deal of luck!) Anyway, here's where this all is relevant. I searched online for some scholarships, and I found this website:

It's the 'Freedom from Religion Foundation' website. It's a non-theist website. The scholarship (for high school students anyway, I didn't look at the college one) involves an essay... you can pick either: "Why I don't need religion to be moral" or "Why religion is harmful to women". I really don't think they are inviting a response from a religious person here (although I could shake things up...:areyoucra) and there are many bright young minds here who don't have a particular religious affiliation, so... here you go, should you be in a situation similar to me. Post your essay here if you do this!
