Was this a sign from God?

True. But maybe *twitch* it makes me *jerk* the *twitch* person I am *spasm* today. :p

So your contention is that it was God's intent to have you suffer through the accident to make you the person you are today?

Or am I misreading the intent of the post?

No, that sort of defies the whole help the needy thing.
... though would it be bad if there were no needy to help? Isn't that the end goal?

If God was doing that there wouldn't be any needy.
That's a pretty profound statement if you think about it.

Getting back to the Jesus Fish, though: do you always take them as a sign of God? For instance, if you cut someone off on the highway and then notice one on the car ahead of you, do you take this as God saying "good job getting ahead of that guy"?

I'm also curious about how you think God got the Jesus Fish there to give you that sign. Do you think that:

- God temporarily suspended the normal rules of the physical universe just for you, or

- God arranged things in his design of creation so that he fore-ordained a chain of events - including the actions of countless sentient beings - from the beginning of time until now, all just for you?

So what are the odds there would be one sitting there at the time I did something "Christian" and then for me to walk right over it after completing my "Christian" task. I took it as a sign that I had done ok.
But you'd still have done ok, ikhthus or no ikhthus, surely?

And ─ admit it ─ there was no such heavenly acknowledgement the time you pulled those seven children from the burning bus, was there.

But if you like to interpret coincidence as the pat on the back that you deserved, well, you deserved it.

A strange thing happened the other day which made me believe was a sign from God. I was hanging around the house most of the day working on some projects. Occasionally I'd look out the window across the street to the school grounds playing fields to see what was going on. I noticed a young girl sitting on the ground at the foot of the bleachers. She had been there most of the day. I thought, how can anyone sit there all day like that, she must be homeless and has no place to go. After a while I was thoroughly convinced she was homeless and felt I should do something. I thought about what I could do to help her, and decided. I have $200 in my wallet and don't need it that much, I'll give her $200, then chiseled it down to $100, maybe more. So I walked over and asked if she was lost or something. She said she wasn't lost Relieved, I said ok and started to walk back. On the way back I noticed an emblem lying on the curb of the street. It was one of those Christian fish emblems. I'd never seen any Christian emblems lying around before. So what are the odds there would be one sitting there at the time I did something "Christian" and then for me to walk right over it after completing my "Christian" task. Well, the so-called "Christian" fish emblem is actually an astrological symbol for the Zodiac age of "Pisces" that has been borrowed by Christianity, so doubtful the emblem had anything to do with your religion.

But God knows that I recognize that as a Christian symbol. So if he wanted me to get the message he could use the Christian fish symbol and I would recognize that as Christian.

If you want to believe it was a sign from God, then believe it was. I don't want to discourage your beliefs, just offering my opinion.

I explaining my opinion, not clinging to beliefs because I want to. It happened, it was strange, too strange to be a coincidence.

So whenever you see a Christian fish symbol, you know that God is trying to give you a message?

Since Christianity has a monopoly on charity it's a no brainer that finding a "Christian fish emblem" was a "sign from God".
