Washington state Sen. Doug Ericksen dies after battle with COVID

State Sen. Doug Ericksen, a stalwart conservative voice in the Legislature, former leader of Donald Trump’s campaign in Washington and an outspoken critic of COVID-19 emergency orders, has died, his family said Saturday. He was 52.

Ericksen said last month that he had tested positive for the coronavirus while on a trip to El Salvador, although his cause of death was not immediately confirmed this weekend.

This was the state senator who went to El Salvador, got Covid, couldn't get home, asked his GOP colleagues to get him some monoclonal antibodies because they didn't have any in El Salvador, was airlifted to Florida and then disappeared until his death was announced.

The voice of desperation - too little, too late.

“I took a trip to El Salvador and tested positive for COVID shortly after I arrived,” he wrote. “I cannot get back home, and it’s to the point that I feel it would be beneficial for me to receive an iv of monoclonal antibodies (Regeneron). I have a doctor here who can administer the iv, but the product is not available here.”

“Do any of you have any ideas on how I could get the monoclonal antibodies sent to me here,” Ericksen continued. “Ideally, I would like to get it on a flight tonight so it would be here by tomorrow.”

Objections to the vaccine I kept hearing from antivaxers were that it wasn't approved by the FDA (EUA was not considered approval by these morons,) that it was experimental, that we didn't know the long term effects.

Well guess what? All these objections apply to monoclonal antibodies. So antivaxers, if you want to be consistent, you can't take monoclonal antibodies either. Sucks to be you.
