Water under the bridge? Should I go back to my old place of employment?

That’s ok I am not trying to convince anyone, but yes, I had a life threatening medical emergency and she laughed in my face and denied me medical leave that I had saved up. Completely ridiculous to the point it sounds unbelievable, I know, but it’s true.
I, too, have worked for restaurants, in the old days. Been there. Burned the shirt. There's got to be something else.

I just advise considering other possible
versions of the truth....versions that
might seem less abusive.

I'm sure he's being honest.
But I know that we all color our perceptions,
& his seemed possibly dysfunctional.
It doesn't hurt to consider giving some
benefit of doubt.
My husband works in a restaurant... sometimes the stories border on unbelievable... And the characters can be more colorful than cartoons.

You confuse me. But I’d rather leave it at that, I didn’t create this thread to convince. I am asking for advice if whether I should forgive the boss who laughed at my face when I had a life threatening medical emergency. And also should I go back to work for her. I’m thinking “no” based off of what people have said, so I am satisfied with the conversation.

I worked in a restaurant once too. Once was enuf.
(I made pizzas. You know...throwing the spinning
dough up in the air.) I also had many other menial jobs.
I observed that disgruntled workers often saw their
plight in exaggerated ways....with all the blame on
the employer, & no personal responsibility taken.
This harmed their keeping jobs.

Maybe restaurants aren't the best place for the OP.
They seem more hectic & stressful than work
environments. Of the more menial jobs I've had,
I prefered lawn mowing, landscaping, furniture
moving, census taking, machining.

My advice shouldn't be seen as criticism.
Only as something possibly useful....or not.
It's up to the OP to judge that.

Just to clarify I suppose. I have diagnosed psychiatric issues and I was going to self delete imminently, so I just needed to see my doc and get some meds changed. If I didn’t leave I would have killed myself. I told my boss this and she laughed.

I'm not here to convince anyone of anything.
I am asking for advice if whether I should forgive the boss who laughed at my face when I had a life threatening medical emergency. And also should I go back to work for her. I’m thinking “no” based off of what people have said, so I am satisfied with the conversation.
Forgiveness might be useful for you.
But I'd consider whether a job elsewhere, or in
a different line of work might suit you better.

I've actually been baffled that some are allowed to keep their jobs at the place my husband works...

I was glad they at least canned the guy who inappropriately placed cameras in certain areas of the restaurant...

I have my job through Goodwill and applied through Indeed. The week after applying, I was working. So I would try Goodwill in your area.
I got orientation for the local state jobs/work program next week. My boyfriend did the program and they paid for his Certified Nursing Assistant classes that he is currently in. I guess they give you a test to see what you are skilled at or something then go from there. But I got something cooking hopefully something not restaurant.

Best of luck! Make your needs known!

She’s the one who violated HIPAA and demanded to know what my psychiatric emergency was
This reminds me of a situation I once encountered.
The company wanted all employees to make donations
to some charity. I didn't. Someone asked my why.
I said it was for "personal reasons". This ended the
pressure because it was a signal that a line would be
crossed.
Perhaps it might work for you to say that it's a "personal
health care matter". If pressured further, then bring up
the HIPAA restrictions.
