Ways to get Nearness of God, their Significance and Expectation.

DawudTalut

Peace be upon you.
Peace be on you….Words of Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace).

THE SOURCE OF PIETY IS GOD

The source of piety is God. One can get piety by following His teachings and it leads to His nearness and blessings. Hazrat Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) wrote:

“In real sense, except God, no one else is pious. All high morals and all pieties are in Him in entirety. Then, as much as one gets nearness of That Absolutely-Good Being by breaking free from his nafs (self) and desire, that much Divine morals reflect on his nafs. So, whatever excellences and true refinement human gets, is due to nearness of God and it should be so because creation, in its own accord, is nothing. Thus, reflection of high morals is upon the hearts of those, who adopt full obedience of Holy Quran. And true experience can show that, high morals are carried out by them with such pure mode, spiritual pleasure and excitement full of love, that no example of it is found in the world. Even though, everyone can claim by mouth and everyone’s tongue can move for boast, but as the door of true experience is narrow, these are people who cross safely from this door. And if other people even demonstrate some morals, it is out of formality and pretence and they show their false refinement by keeping their pollutions secret and by hiding their maladies. But their veneer comes out off in trivial trials. And they often do formality and pretence in executing high morals, because they find the good management of their life and living in it. And if they were to follow their inner foulness in all situations, that would interfere adventures of their living. Although, they too have some seed of moral in them, according to inherent aptitude, but mostly it remains suppressed under the thorns of selfish desires. And it is not manifested purely for the sake of Allah without mixing of selfish desires – let alone reaching to its perfection. And purely for the sake of Allah, in those, that seed reaches its perfection, who become God’s and whose selves are filled by God the Exalted with His pure morals since He finds their selves free from the pollution of Ghariat [making His associates]. And He causes in their hearts those morals beloved, as they (morals) are beloved to Him. Thus those people achieve such status of having morals of Allah, as if they become a tool of God through which God demonstrate His morals. And finding them hungry and thirsty, He cause them to drink such pure water from His that special fountain, whose purity is not shared by any creation.” [Barahin e Ahmadiyya, Ruhani Khazain, Vol 1, p 541.., margin to margin 3]

DIVINE NEARNESS

“God the Exalted cannot be deceived. He makes only them His special Intimates, who always naturally swim like fish in the river of His love, and they become His, and they are consumed in His obedience. Thus these words cannot be of a true righteous that, in fact everyone is impure except God the Exalted and anyone was never purified and will never be -- as if God the Exalted created His servants in vain. But the words of true understanding and spiritual knowledge are that: From the beginning it is the ‘sunnatUllah’ (the way of God) for humankind that He has been purifying the possessors of His love. Indeed, the source of true purity and pureness is God the Exalted; the people who remain engaged in His remembrance through Zikr, worship and love, God the Exalted put His attribute (of Purity) on them too, then they also receive share from this purity in a reflective way, which is actually present in the Being of God the Exalted.” [Satt Bachan, Ruhani Khazain, Vol 10, p 210]

HOLY PROPHET (PEACE AND BLESSING OF ALLAH BE ON HIM) IS THE WAY AND MODEL TO ACHIEVE HIGH MORALS, PIETY AND DIVINE NEARNESS

“We also believe in the matter that even the low stage of right path can never be obtained by human without following our Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be on him), let alone high stages of true path could be attained without following this Leader of Messengers. We can never obtain any rank of dignity and perfection and any station of respect and nearness without true and complete obedience of our Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be on him). Whatever is granted to us, is by way of reflection and through (Holy Prophet , peace and blessing of Allah be on him).” [Izala e Auham, Ruhani Khazain, Vol 3, p 170]

WHAT IS THE REALITY OF ISLAM, HOW SHOULD A MUSLIM BE

“The reality of Islam; it is to put down own neck before God like the sacrificial lamb, and to give up all own intents, and to be absorbed in the intent and pleasure of God, and by getting lost in God to bring a sort of death on self, and to obey Him by getting full colour from His personal love - not for any other base, and to get such eyes which see with God only, and to get such ears which hear with God only, and to develop such heart which is fully leaned towards Him, and to attain such tongue which speaks by His call. This is the station at which all suluk (searches-for-truth) end, and human faculties had done their duties, and death fully comes at human ego then mercy of God the Exalted grant him life again with His living converse and luminous lights, and he is honoured with delightful converse of God, and such extremely fine light itself comes closer to the heart of human, which cannot be discovered by reason and eyes do not reach its essence, as God says:

“…….wa nahno aqrabo eleyhey min hublil warid.” i.e. ‘….. and We are nearer to him than (even his) jugular vein.’ [Holy Quran, ch 50 : v 17]

So, like that He honours the lost (in Him) human then such time comes that by removal of blindness eyes are brighten and human beholds his God with those new eyes, hears His voice, and finds himself wrapped in the sheet of His light. Then the purpose of religion is concluded and by observing his God, human casts aside the dirty cloak of lower life, from his being, and wears a dress of light. And he does not keep waiting for a sight of God and for Paradise as a (future) promise and as a wait for Hereafter, but he attains the-sight, the-speaking and bounties of Paradise right at

ISTIGHFAAR

“Istighfaar, with which, roots of faith get strong, is mentioned in Holy Quran in two meanings.
First is that, by anchoring own heart in the love of God (and) with the connection of God, stop committing sins that are roused in the state of separation (from God). This Istighfaar is of close ones (to God) who consider momentarily separation from God as their destruction. They do Istighfaat so that God may keep them holding in His love.
Second kind of Istighfaar is to come out of sin and run towards God, and make effort that, as tree is held in earth similarly heart may become captive of love of God so that by getting pure development, is saved from dryness of sin and decline. And both these types are given the name Istighfaar. [Answer to Four Questions by Sirajuddin Christain, Ruhani Khazain, Vol 12, (reprint edition), p 346]
