Thoughts?

The one thing that strikes me about this is that he's emphasizing walking away from just the Democratic Party, not both major parties. Although I can definitely sympathize with those who have grown fed up with the Democratic Party and all their BS, even if they may be the lesser of two evils.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
So far all the "new" political parties are just extensions of the main parties of Democrats and Republicans.

Tea Party

Independent party.

We would probably be better off if Democrats and Republicans merge back into the original party they once were.

The US needs more parties and unitive groups, the dems and pubs aren't really up to par. I think there's wonderful people in the US, just that those parties don't seem to represent them. Well just my opinion from the outside.

I am reminded of a Voltaire quote, from experience, I think political parties could be said to be similar in this regard:

"If one religion only were allowed in England, the Government would very possibly become arbitrary; if there were but two, the people would cut one another's throats; but as there are such a multitude, they all live happy and in peace."

In one-party states, the democratic elements are vestigial. In two-party states, people are becoming more and more hostile towards one another. A third party, whatever its form, is probably sorely needed.

I'd say that instead of trying to form another damn political party, Americans should put more effort into thinking beyond partisan ideologies and partisan allegiance.

I dont think there was anything wrong with theGermansin
the 1930s, any more than anyone else. Or the Russians,
or or or.

Americans seem ok to me, living among them.

The leaders will make or break a society, and, alas,
the people have only partial and indirect control of
who is running the show.

If there is going to be a history of the rise and fall of
the former USA, a title for it might well be
WHAT A WASTE

This is normal. The two party system is prone to loose association favouring bloc voting power over a dividing the party. This is why radicals are in both parties. Tea Party like movements are an attempt to "steer" the party in a certain direction Just as open Socialists are with Dems. Neither wants to form a new party thus lose access to power in general.

We would probably be better off if Democrats and Republicans merge back into the original party they once were.

One party dominance would be horrible given US politics. I could only see moderates being on board general. Socialist, Social Democrats, Conservatives, WS/W nationalists, etc, etc would be dropped or leave the renewed party on their own.

Uh, no.

Oversimplifying the complex political spectrum is precisely why we're dealing with all of these problems.

Do you think there will be more or less than 1000 people at this march?
I have no idea. I've never gone to a march. However, I think what he said is important. It would seem to me that his message would resonate with many.

I found that his statement meant, "I'm not going to leave and become a Republican but rather just leave the Democratic Party". That's why I thought of a third party.

It used to be a good choice between the two.

Soon as I saw the word "man" II thought, NO Way.

If I could pass a law of t he universe, like gravity or
something it would be, there will be no men as head
of state, anywhere on earth.
I'm sure we would have the same problems one way or the other.

That would be good it the ultimate position would be "How can I love my neighbor better?"
