We shall know Him by

Jesus in me
I could never figure out why the disiples on the road to Emmaeus recognized Jesus in the breaking of bread. Anyone can break bread. Then this morning I realized that Jesus the whole time He was walking with them had His hands by His side. When He broke bread His hands were in plain sight and so were the nail prints from the cross. No wonder they recognized Him.

Perhaps it was because anytime there is an act of genuine community (i.e. breaking bread), Christ is there, because that's what "Christ" is.

If you ever happen to read the book "Joshua" by Joseph Girzone, there is a more modern treatment of this idea. This is a fictional work portraying a return of Christ to earth, not for judgment, but for a vacation (if you will). It shows how he might engage people in a modern small town, how he might try to help them, how they would, or would not, accept him. In my opinion (FWIW) it suggests that someone who consistently behaved as Jesus did on a daily basis in lifestyle and all interactions would be recognized.
