Weird experience while meditating

Sha'irullah

I had the weird feeling while meditating today and I cannot recall if I felt this before.
I felt as if I was sinking into a cushion. As if I was just being absorbed into at least a 7 foot thick plush toy. I was sitting in the seiza position and it just felt odd and enjoyable(until it ended of course).

Am I the only one who has experience the sensation of being....."assimilated"?

...Meow and sorry for the Borg reference.

When I meditated I would often get an intense sensation of spinning. Someone told me I was probably not breathing properly. That seemed to fix it.

Usually I get a sensation of weightlessness every time but spinning would seem to just be annoying. Breath control is very important in meditation though obviously because without calmness and a lowered heart rate there is no point in doing so.

I have had that happen, but it typically occurs while lying down and meditating. I rationalized that it was just all of my muscles finally relaxing, which at the time it happened, was a rare occurrence for me.

Strangest thing I have had happen to date, was a weird buzzing/vibrating sensation at the base of my skull. This was just the other day.

I think it's a feeling of peaceful belonging and tranquillity...you don't feel so alien to the world and your own self. It's the being home feeling. In germanic languages it used to be tied to the word frith where friend and freedom stem from. You try to extend that joyful feeling and sense to your day to day.
