What are black jobs?

Not of this world
This what intrigues me, as a European looking in. Why do so many Americans dislike their country so much, they are prepared to burn it down?
It's what one of the political parties (democrat) embraces to gain power. They advocate for things to get worse so they can then be depended upon to come up with the solution.

That sounds like the M.O. of your entire body politic, tbh. Why is the tone of US political debate so hysterical?

I'm not sure you're quite grasping my question, so I will just stop asking.
Your question...
"No other groups other than illegal immigrants are referred to as "illegals". Why do you think that is?"

My answer...
What others groups are in the US illegally?

If you think I'm grasping it wrong, explain.

I'm sure there are, but having them pour in over the southern border hoping to not get caught, and then released into the country when they are isn't the way. If Trump gets back in the WH, that will change. People are tired of the way things are now.
Odd that Trump didn't stop it when he was president the first time. He did try inhumane treatment of migrants (most of them who did cross at check points and asked for asylum) as a way to deter them entering the USA. His policies violated domestic and international laws. He was only allowed to close the border when the pandemic hit. And of course he mismanaged that.

Because conservatives are weak and racist, and need groups to prejudice against to make them feel special and privileged. They can't openly be racist against blacks, even though Trump referred to "black jobs" as if that is a known category of jobs. And gays have too much equality as a norm to be prejudiced against directly (even though Sam Alito's wife was recorded as being hostile to gay pride). So trans people are the new target, along with other marginalized groups whose freedom of expression and liberty to be who they are is attacked.

I'm not sure you understand what an answer is. Here's a clue: it doesn't come with a question mark at the end.

Okay, one last time:

Why is it that we refer to people in the country illegally as "illegals" when we don't use this term for any other groups (including people who have committed other crimes)?

Keep in mind, simply saying "Because it's what we call them" is NOT an answer. The question is why we CHOOSE to use THAT SPECIFIC WORD ONLY FOR THAT SPECIFIC GROUP.

They are here illegally, hence illegals.

Technically undocumented people being here isn't breaking federal laws. However they are illegally here, i.e. not here by going through the legal process. Illegal refers to their status of being on the US, not crimes.

So they are called illegals instead of criminals.

People who commit crimes are called criminals, felons, etc.

I myself would prefer being called an illegal over criminal any day.

Once again, that's not an answer. I already explained this. It's circular. What I'm asking is WHY WE DO THAT.

The question is WHY.

I doubt very much that that's true.

How many times can your question of why be answered?

They are called illegals BECAUSE they are illegally here.

Why do we call criminals criminals...BECAUSE they committed crimes.

Are you seriously telling me that you don't understand how that's NOT an answer?

"Why do we do this thing?"
"Because that's what we do."
"I'm asking WHY we do that."
"Because we do the thing, that's why."
"No, I'm trying to ask WHY we do that specific thing."
"Because that specific thing is that specific thing and we do it."

This is getting increasingly tedious.

Why do we call criminals criminals...BECAUSE they committed crimes.
Then why we not just call them "criminals"? Why create the special category of "illegal" just for a person in the country illegally? Why not call people who carry illegal weapons "illegals"? Why not people who rape or murder, or commit fraud? Why are they not "illegals"?

Lol.

It is an answer. It refers to their illegal status in the US.

So why not just refer to them as illegal immigrants?

Why not just call them illegal immigrants, rather than "illegals"?

Please wrap your head around this.
My head is wrapped around it.

illegal immigrants?

Illegal + s = illegals. That's where it evolved from. People are always looking for shortcuts, to shorten words.
