What are the frogs of Rev ?

Rev 16:13 And I saw three un-clean inspired expressions that looked like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon and wild beast ...14 They are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and [they] perform signs, and go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.

If I may, I'll suggest one answer, maybe you have another?

Spirits are invisible and intangible; hence the "unclean spirits like frogs" symbolize propaganda, proclamations and messages rather than tangible things.

A frog is a kind of animal that has a big mouth, assumes much wisdom, looks wise, bluffs a great deal, swells up and makes much noise.
Notice that Revelation has three unclean spirits like frogs. Could this signify a trio of declarations, principles and proclamations ? All of these are from God's point of view: boastful, arrogant and claim much.

If we are to assume that the "Dragon" is Satan and his spiritual organization,
and the beast the visible part of his organization made up of the commercial, political and ecclesiastical factors.

This could be an example of such claims:

One:
God is a liar and his word is unreliable, contradictory and unpractical, ignore him, and those who advocate his cause.
Two:
We have the only established form of government and guardian of religious truth that is proper,we will make the earth into a fit place to live.
Three:
Our wealth, power and science is our god, not Jehovah. We are the spiritual guardians for the people, nothing else should be heard or considered.

Can you hear the frogs? What do you think they mean ?

Bugger all, probably. Revelation is a sort of dream, by this old man exiled to Patmos by the Roman state. Not of all of it has to make sense - and a lot doesn't.

If we refer to Rev 19:4 where a 'sharp sword' came out the mouth of the rider on the white horse (Jesus), we know the 'sharp sword' is a metaphor to denote the striking down of the rebellious kings and their armies of the earth..The 'frogs' came out of the mouth of the three entities, dragon, beast, and false prophet, hence 'frogs' is a metaphor to represent the deceptive spirits who rally the kings and their armies to rebel against Christ and thus brings about the war of Armageddon Soft watery frogs compared hardened steel. Deception compared to Truth.

Can you clarify what you mean? Who is "we", and what is this theocratic government that seeks to impose its will of what it considers "proper" upon the world?

BTW, the frogs.... Trump's lies.:tonguewink:

and the frogs in revelation would probably have to do with whatever frogs represented prior to the greeks and romans mucking up the mythological waters of antiquity, since they basically stole their entire cultural fabric from the more ancient cultures which preceded them.....
they, have been a shirt-stain on the blanket of life since their inception.

"we" are the ones who claim and to have the only established form of government liberated from Gods law, and guardian of religious truth etc..As for the theocratic governments, they could be any that deviate from the teachings of the holy scriptures.
I only gave a one possible interpretation, maybe you have another.

Are you saying you want the earth to be governed by theocratic rule?

I'm not sure how you extrapolate my preferences of who should rule the earth out of this discussion.
But since you ask I'll answer this way. There are only two options either man rules the earth or God does.
Would you rather man rule over man ?

Is God actually ruling, or is it men who believe they speak for God? How would you know if they really were God's agents doing God's will? How does that system look different than the Spanish Inquisition, or some form of sharia law?

Your quote:A frog is a kind of animal that has a big mouth, assumes much wisdom, looks wise, bluffs a great deal, swells up and makes much noise.
My Answer: 1.A frog does have a big mouth. On the other hand, there must be a place to put that tongue. 2.Does a frog really assume wisdom? How would you know what a frog assumes? I don't see that a frog assumes wisdom at all.
3. Does a frog really look wise? I would say not any more than any of God's animals.
4. Raise your hand of all the people who have seen frogs bluffing? Sure they often sit still, trying to blend into they surroundings, but this is survival.
5. Yes, frogs can make a bit of noise, however not anymore than many of God's other animals.
6. You failed to mention that frogs have a Great pair of legs. Frogs also keep insect populations from overwhelming the world.

All in All I vote in favor of the Frog, a truly masterful creation.

Religious stories are no more than Stories. Like horoscopes, people will find a way to make them fit.

Give up the Doom and Gloom. This world and it's people are getting better and better with every baby step. Even taking baby steps one can walk across a world.

Come back in a thousand years and you will marvel at the progress. Come back in a mere 100 years and the evidence of our direction will be clear.

We all have the power to choose what we deem important. If we choose to see evil in everything, can this really be a step forward? I think not. Nurture the goodness instead of condemning the evil and watch the goodness flourish.

That's what I see. It's very clear!!
