I had a cup of coffee, then I had a cup of coffee. Then I went to the store, then I had a cup of coffee. I took a short nap, and then I had a cup of coffee.

"Be strong", I whispered to my coffee.

It's not labor day in France. Like the UK they hold it of 1st May.

Its known as Fete du Travail, travail means work (or labour)

It is also often referred to as Fete du Muguet. Muguet is lilly of the valley that is sold in bunches on 1st may. Used in collars etc to show solidarity for workers.

Flower sellers do not pay tax on profits made from selling muguet.

As @Altfish points out, it isn't a special day in Britain. I spent most of it driving back from Lancaster to London, having decided it was too far from St Andrew's (in Scotland) to do in one day. Lancaster is a convenient midway point. I was in St Andrew's to drop my son off at university to start his second year, and to visit my brother and sister-in-law, who live close by.

Uhhh well I took a nap, then I watched spongebob, fed the cats, checked in on my parents, and now I'm going to eat dinner and have a glass of wine.
