Other ideas!

- skating
- swimming at a public pool
- kites
- geocaching (if you've already got a GPS)
- car games... though with the price of gas these days, this can go above $10 pretty quickly:

1. Red Light, Turn Right: Just like the name says. Start driving straight; if the road you're on ends, go whatever way you want. If you come to a red light, turn right. See where you end up. Note: don't play this game in Quebec or countries where you drive on the left.

2. Car Tag: my friends and I came up with this when we were in high school. No contact between cars is involved. You and several of your friends decide on the boundaries for the game and then head out after dark. The rules are like regular tag, except for one difference: to tag someone, you flash your high beams at them.

3. Car Curling: this is another one that we came up with in high school. Find a deserted road; pick a roadside marker at a point along it and another marker 100 - 200 m along, then take turns "curling": start way back of the first marker and get up to whatever speed you want. When you pass the second marker, shift into neutral. Don't touch the brakes (unless you're going to hit someone, of course - then do what you have to and then re-do the run) and let the car coast until it stops. Whoever gets closest to the second marker wins.

I suggest you both log onto RF at the same time and play "Pin the Thread on Dallas" by seeing which one of you can write the post that most annoys Dallas that evening. I play that game all the time, albeit I play by myself.

Have a water balloon fight! Yes, in winter. :D It's sometimes funny to watch people's reactions when you hit them.

Or rent some black and white movies and make fun of how ridiculous they are. Go on a mini-roadtrip to a nearby town that has cool historical places with cheap admission...only with the price of gas...

Have an indoor picnic, with paper plates and picnic food and a blanket on the floor. That's always fun, and different from ordinary mealtimes.

Hop some fences onto private property, even if it's just for a few minutes. It'll make you feel rebellious. :D

Go to the nearest Dollar Tree or Dollar General, and plan a ten minute shopping spree with ten dollars each. The catch is that the stuff you buy has to be for your partner, not yourself. :p

Purchase Cranium's Whoonu game from Toys R Us or Target. It's a game where you are dealt cards with activities or objects written on them. You rate what you think you partner likes best from 1-6. I think you actually need three people, but my boyfriend and I changed the rules a little to work for two people. You'll probably learn stuff about each other you never knew. A cheaper, but similar option is Would You Rather? I think board games and card games in general are a great way to bond.

After reading this thread, my suggestion would be to make a big bowl of popcorn and then invite Dallas and Sunstone over to duke it out, gladiator style, using only their verbal gymnastic skills. That might be pretty entertaining.

Aside from the obvious;):D, what are some ideas you guys may have of activities a couple can do, places they can go, etc. for a date or just to do something together that are super cheap(about less than $10 for each of them) or better yet free? Maybe as a thought booster: what do you and your significant other do for fun together, or your friends do with their significant others? And yes ideas on what they can do at home are welcome, it doesn't HAVE to involve going OUT somewhere.

Let me eliminate the obvious ones so I can force you all to be a bit more creative:p

Taking a walk/hike anywhere
going out to eat anywhere
Movies

So what sorts of ideas do you guys have?

I like to cook for my fiancee. So we'll got to the store [want to get fresh ingredients] and pick out what we're hungry for, then when we get back home I'll start making her dinner.

Then we'll eat together and watch some TV.....then she starts to nibble on my ear....

It was already mentioned, but geocaching can be a kick if you have a handheld GPS. Wifey and I have found ourselves spending entire days out "caching". Look for the neat ones. You'd be surprised the landmarks and cool places that are probably right around the corner.
