In her 2018 book What Did Jesus Look Like?, Taylor used archaeological remains, historical texts and ancient Egyptian funerary art to conclude that, like most people in Judea and Egypt around the time, Jesus most likely had brown eyes, dark brown to black hair and olive-brown skin. He may have stood about 5-ft.-5-in. (166 cm) tall, the average man’s height at the time.

I don't know what he looked like, but as a kid, my piano teacher had a beautiful painting of him as a black man with medium length dredlocks. It was my most favorite picture of him ever... if I ever saw a copy, I'd buy it, despite not being a Christian. The artist had managed to capture so much emotion in his expression... So often in artwork, he looks kind of stoic... but in this one he looked as human as the next guy. It was one of the few pieces of Christian artwork I found emotionally stirring.

I assume that he is not only referring to the region, but is implying that Jesus looked like a modern day Ashkenazi Jew.

So your whole "look like" is simply skin color?
If we are going off the White/Black dichotomy, then the Jews are most certainly brown/tan/sand. As most of us are.

I have had people tell me that there is no need to guess about what Jesus looked like.

Based on radiocarbon dating of the Shroud of Turin, I suspect its portrait image is likely that of a medieval forger.
