No, it's not a parody thread, though @Mark Dohle's thread inspired me to post this.

I've been a member of this community for a bit, and have posted nearly 20,000 times. So I'm curious about how well people know me, or more accurately, my worldview.

Many here create posts outlining their beliefs. I want this thread to go a bit differently. I want to see how accurately others can outline my worldview.

So without using the search function, tell me what my religious and/or philosophical views/positions are. I'll had out frubals accordingly.

Transtheist. Advaita Vedanta. All is one.

You observe Mahashivaratri and have a Nataraja on your very simple altar, if I remember right.

You are a vegetarian, and like to watch cars race. Libertarian?

Well, I guess I didn't think this idea through. I wasn't expecting someone to get so many correct answers on the first response. :tearsofjoy:

Very astute!

In addition to what @JustGeorge said in post #2, you are a transtheist.

Edit: Whoops. I didn’t see ‘transtheist’ in her post.

========

I recall something about the inclusion of an indigenous philosophy in your spiritual life. I also recall that you like The Four Agreements.

I think you're speaking of the Toltec philosophy. I found it to be quite liberating and recommend the book mentioned above to anyone who is struggling with suffering from the judgments of others or with judging themselves. I've "loaned" several copies out over the years.

I think you like upma for breakfast, @SalixIncendium ?
I haven't had this nearly as much as I used to. When I moved in with my daughter, I didn't want to wake her and my granddaughter up making food, so while living there, I usually went out to get breakfast. She wasn't a breakfast eater, and my granddaughter was more into Cheerios and Nutri-grain bars.

I suppose now that I'm on my own again and have a stove top, I should go get some. Poha, too.

A lot of this has already been covered now in the responses. But other than that, you seem to be a person that likes to ask questions, but doesn't necessarily like to assert more than you have to - especially if those assertions are based on theory or unproven things

IMO.

A vegetarian, libertarian, fan of NASCAR, and, above all, an Advaita Vedanta Hindu.

You also value mysticism, personal experience as a path to liberation from suffering, and meditation. You take a shower and meditate every morning as part of your routine.

You treasure your car, a Nissan Altima.

"Treasure" might be a bit strong. I do value it and do my best to keep it well-maintained and in good condition, because living in rural Pennsyltucky, it's more of a need than a want. I'd like it to make it the last car I ever own and am hopeful it outlasts my body, and then I'll pass it on to my daughter.

I guess my post didn't have a 100% success rate, but I'll still take the "Winner." :D

I think minimizing car swaps is generally a great goal. If it's not broken, no need to fix (or replace) it.
