What do you feel is wrong with Christianity?

that and,

marriage to dogma

exclusivity of many of the groups

propositions of absolute morality and inability to be flexible in society

distrust and friction against science and biological advancements

seeing war and violence as a tool of Gods will

viewing crimes against humanity by holy groups as reasonable (pedophile priests for example) or unavoidable

belief that problems of society are man to blame and accomplishments are God's "gift" --giving humanity very little or no credit for its own advancement

presenting a fictionalized view that there is no such thing as death (for believers)

the "carrot and the stick" mentality of believe and be saved don't and burn for all eternity

The elevation of faith as a supreme reality that trumps evidence when the two make contradictory claims.

the belief that the 2nd coming will be a glorious thing even though it involves the destruction of the world.

Youve summed it all up well. I cant but agree on this.

It does vary from different denominations, but what I can't stand;
-Eternal punishment in Hell for not accepting Christ
-Treatment of women
-Constantly looking down upon gays and transexuals, and insisting being one is a chose.
-Those that are run for the sole purpose of making money
-Rejection of science.
-Total submission to god
-Constantly trying to convert people, especially those who seem to refuse to convert.
-No premaritial sex
-Against witchcraft, divination, and the Occult in general
-Heaven

Its like you took my words and spoke them, creepy but i strongly agree, especially with the science part.
Also, why convert people to Christianity, if they wanted to join your religion they would come to you, innocent people do not need to be annoyed every weekend.

It’s basically and Biblically evil! How dare you say it is right to kill someone in front of their mother! Try going murdering your own children?….it is entirely against the words of Christ and basically makes all who follow it, guilty of murder in terms of scripture and in debt for no reason….

Christianity only stems from John, Paul and Simon the stone of stumbling and if they hadn’t changed the name you might have realized in Zechariah, when a stone is placed before Joshua’s (J=Y) feet; that is the same Simon the stone (peter) laid before Yeshua’s feet.

So biblically it is the mother of all harlots and since I was sent with this message, isn’t it about time we dropped the charade…you will not get away with murdering God’s children….since 2012 is expected, wouldn’t it be about time to repent of murdering Yeshua?

Sorry to sound harsh you asked me how i feel, i find you all workers of iniquity! :angel2:

I notice arrogance most often when I observe Christians address other faiths. That's in real life, though, and not the norm here at RF.

I mean that. Seriously.

God didn't!!!!!!! That is what Balaam teaches means Biblically and so those saying that are the workers of iniquity and why i get so mad having repeated this for years....

Basically the real story goes like this:

Zechariah 11 and other places relates that God will come and place a price of 30 pieces of silver, if the (flock for slaughter) people accept that then Grace (beauty) and inheritance (bonds) will be removed from all following it….(not the other way around as Pharisees taught (foolish shepherd blind in one eye)!!! = Balaam)…..

It is also related that God will get all to drink and eat human waste as they replaced the offering of animal sacrifices with human sacrifice and for it, they shall all be burned (Ezekiel 4).

Those who are strong in their own faith will be receiving an ever lasting kingdom, those who are caught in the snare, are about to be removed if all prophecy globally is correct….

The thing I find very unfair is the translations errors and constant brainwashing to believe something that will basically make you guilty of murdering God….as Yeshua stated those who swear by the sacrifice are also guilty of it…yet most of us have no clue about all of them bits, which is why I investigated it all to help.…..yet after constant rudeness by the one people I was trying to help, feel it is futile and so have been avoiding here, as they get to call me names for being sent….:angel2:

The failure in observing one of the most important commandments:

Thou shalt have no other gods before me

This is God "the father" talking in here but not Jesus nor the trinity gods as a whole. Nevertheless, all what i hear is Jesus save me, Jesus help me. What about God "the father"?

Some might argue that Jesus himself said that no one comes to the father except through Jesus, but that doesn't mean to worship Jesus but to obey and adopt his way of life and his great teachings. I think if Christianity can't observe and keep the commandments then there is no point in their belief in God, IMHO.

That's an interesting way of putting it. I'm gonna have to remember that next time I need to scare off pesty door-to-door missionaries.

1. Overidentification with a being separate from themselves. The externalized "God" concept.
2. Overidentification with Jesus and suppositions about what he stood for.
3. Going by the assumption that the Apostles got it all right.
4. Belief that so-called "revelation" is a reasonable form of communication.

Don't even get me started on the Book of Revelation, lol.

It's a bit hard to go on with "logic" and "common sense " , The trinity.. God sacrificing his son for our sins... the original sin..a book tha't full of contradictions and strange stories about god and his prophets...

This is a thread similar to the "What do you feel is wrong with Islam?" thread.
So what do you feel is wrong with Christianity?

Although I am a Christian there are a few issues I have with Christianity, mainly the one that tells me, because I do not believe in their brand of Christianity, that I am going to hell.

So what about Christianity bothers you?

It seems that many who are quick to label themself christian ,but their doctrines are the furthest thing from the whole of scripture ,inparticular, Christ's teachings.

I have confronted many people with that question "are you christian"?
and it is unreal how many declare they are Christian by mere association to certain tenents of the Christian faith ,but further investigation shows their contridiction to key scriptural doctrine concerning salvation ,Jesus God etc that qualify them to be Christian.

That sounds very judgmental. So what "Qualifies" a person to be a christian and where are the key scriptures that say "to qualify as a christian, thou must..."

I believe the apostle's creed is the most universally accepted "statement" of a Christian's beliefs.

I call it Country Club Christianity. Makes me sick.

I think the following quote sums up what is wrong with Christianity...

"Don't tell them Jesus loves them, 'till you're ready to love them too."--Steve Camp

Too many Christians do not...

Blessings to all...

Quite true, unless one has been a member of any Christian church, you have no idea of the backstabbing, intolerance, and hypocrisy that exists in a typical Christian church.

One wonders how you would know what is "typical." Been around that much, and at your tender age, eh?

As for backstabbing, intolerance, and hypocrisy -- try working a corporate job. Some of those manage to demonstrate such vices quite well, thankyouverymuch.

I would guess I am older than you by a number of years, it's you that haven't been around, relatively speaking, either in churches or the corporate world.

Their obsessions with SINS.

Their obsessions with telling non-Christians that they will go to hell, while they go to heaven.

Their use of fear of hell to convert people.

Childishly telling everyone got it wrong, and they are right. It is the sort of like "my house is bigger than yours" or "my car is faster than yours" child mentality.

Confusing faith and belief with that of evidence, proof or fact.

Trying to put religion teachings into secular schools and into secular subjects.

Trying to push religious agenda into state law.

Hypocrisy. Saying that people should tolerate them, but at the same time they don't tolerating or even persecuting people who don't believe in their religion. Jesus did say not judge or tolerate others if you don't want to be judged or persecuted, but Christians often failed to follow this.

More hypocrisy. They think just because they have converted or believe would make them a better person than a non-Christian person. Self-righteousness is one of their biggest faults.
